i m a little confuse about this sentence.
i dont understand why on internet a lot of people say that by this sentence Disney mocks itself. rapunzel didnt say to vanellope "do yours problems got solve because a big strong men showed up(...) she is a princess ! " but "do people assume you problem got solve because a big strong men showed up(...).she is a princess ! "

I little of both. I take it they’re trying to make the DPs look stronger than most people realize and pass it off as a joke, but they’re not subtle about it at all.

I particularly feel like it's a jab at those dumbass feminazis that are always complaining and being really ignorant about the characters and movies. I do feel it's true with Aurora but I've seen worse.

The only movie where the guy saved the girl is Snow White. And there's only two female characters in the whole movie and one's the villain so... Other movies have the prince and princess saving each other. It's kinda like when people say "Ariel changed for a man" but she CLEARLY wanted to be human before.

So when she says, "Do people assume..." she means it in a bad way, right? Asking do people incorrectly assume? And it's annoying that they assume that?

I do think Disney makes fun of the princesses a little in Wreck-It Ralph 2 but I find it all in good fun. They can make fun of themselves while still being respectful to these characters. I mean, they basically called out the bullcrap criticism they get about not doing anything, having all their problems solved by a big and strong man, and wanting nothing more than a man in life. I do think this is true with Aurora but she's not the worst offender of this and to be fair, her being a damsel in distress isn't her fault because she was literally cursed in her crib before she was even a month old because her parents didn't invite someone to a party. Besides, characters like Bella Swan, Princess Irene, and Princess Peach are WAY WORSE offenders of this than she is. Either way, I think that line was just to have Disney defend itself without being too forced in my opinion, which they did well. Disney has a sense of humor but can also defend itself from ignorant and false criticisms.

Aurora might be asleep for most of her movie, but the three fairies aren't.

Yeah. In fact most of the Princesses beside Snow and Aurora (or maybe Jasmine to some extent) are barely saved by man. I think the line is more likely a satire from Disney for peoples who judge the Princesses are just waiting to be saved, and I don't see how Disney trying to mock itself with it.

Disney has been making independent princesses for decades. When will people realize this?
