The Reunited Kingdom

{Scene switches back to the Outlanders, crossing a river on the way to
attack Pride Rock.}

{Scene switches again; now back at Pride Rock, where Joey and Tristan
are talking.}

JOEY:
I can't believe we lost her again. This is the eight thousandth time!

TRISTAN:
Ooh!

JOEY:
I thought you were gonna watch her!

TRISTAN:
Me? You were gonna watch her!

JOEY:
I thought you were gonna watch her!

TRISTAN:
No, you were gonna watch her!

JOEY:
You were gonna watch her!

TRISTAN:
Aah, watch this! {he leaps onto Joey}

JOEY:
Oww! Take that, you creepy watchmen! Say it! Say it!

TRISTAN:
Aaah! Aaah!

{Joey and Tristan are all-out wrestling when Atem approaches. When he
speaks, they leap to attention.}

ATEM:
What are you doing?

JOEY:
Good question! Now let me ask one.

TRISTAN:
Hippo-thetically...

JOEY:
Very hypo-thetical, there's this guy...

TRISTAN:
But he's not a pharoh...

JOEY:
No! No, he's not a pharoh... yeesh. {Atem is looking amused} Definitely
not a pharoh. And, uh... uh... his daughter, um, say... vanished.

ATEM:
Mana is gone?

{Mahando runs into shot.}

MAHANDO:
Sire! The Outsiders are on the attack... heading this way! It's war!

ATEM:
Mahando! Find Mana! We'll assemble the servents. Move! Now!

{A storm gathers as the two kingdoms close on the field of battle; rain
mats Atem's hair as he advances. Prey animals skitter away from
between the advancing kingdoms. Buzzards circle overhead. Mana and Yugi
rush home as fast as they can. The two kingdoms face each other across
the field; when all are assembled, Joey and Tristan moon the
Outsiders.}

JOEY and TRISTAN:
Nah nah nah nah nah nah!

MAI:
It's over, Atem! I have dreamed of nothing else for years!

JOEY:
Boy... does she need a hobby.

ATEM:
Last chance, Mai: Go home.

MAI:
I am home!

{Lightning flashes and thunder cracks.}

MAI:
Attack!

{The two opposing lines advance toward each other, first walking, then
picking up speed until they hit at a full run. Mai coaches her kindom
from a high rock.}

MAI:
Go for the eyes! Break his jaw! Hit him low! Get them! Do what you
must!

{Mana and Yugi approach from a distance, but the dust of the battle is
already rising; they're worried, but they rush towards the battlefield
at full speed anyway.}

TRISTAN:
What do we do? What do we do?

JOEY:
There's only one thing we can do, Tristan: "When the going gets tough,
the tough get going." That's our motto!

TRISTAN:
I thought our motto was "Hakuna Matata"!

JOEY:
Tristan, stop living in the past! This is the sequel. We need a new
motto!

{Joey and Tristan run screaming into the battle, trying to appear as
menacing as they can. They are stopped short by a firce servents with spears;
they turn and run back the way they came.}

JOEY:
Like I said: Let's get going!

{Yugi and Mana run down an embankment covered with fallen logs; Yugi
nearly slips, but catches onto one of the logs and jumps down safely.
The logs begin shifting.}

{Rebecca appears on a ledge above Tea.}

REBECCA:
Where's your pretty daughter, Tea?

TEA:
Rebecca!

{Rebecca leaps down onto Tea; the two tumble down the hill, fighting
fiercely.}

{Joey and Tristan are being chased by a number of servents. They get
backed up against a wall, surrounded; Tristan puts his face to the wall
and covers his eyes. Joey looks around, panicking, and finally sees a
way out; he jumps up on Tristan's back, gets his gun, cocks it,
and holds it up.}

JOEY:
Don't anybody move! This thing's loaded. I'll let you have it!

{The enemy servents all shriek and turn, fleeing over the
horizon.}

JOEY:
Yeah! Yeah... talk about your winds of war!

{Back on the battlefield, Mai is laughing as she views the battle
turning in her favor.}

MAI:
Atem... {jumps down} you're mine!

{She and her two backup servents approach Atem, who is fighting off
several enemies at once. The servents part, making way for Mai and
Atem to fight one-on-one. Just as they are about to land the first
blows, Mana and Yugi leap into the scene, and stand between the two
enemies.}

ATEM:
Mana?

MAI:
Yugi! {he stares at her, his eyes narrowing at her mention of his name}
...Move.

ATEM:
Stand aside.

MANA:
Daddy, this has to stop.

MAI:
{to Yugi} You're even weaker than I thought. Get out of the way!

YUGI:
You'll never hurt Mana... or Atem. Not while I'm here.

MAI:


ATEM:
Stay out of this!

MANA:
A wise Pharoah once told me, "We are one." I didn't understand what he
meant... now I do.

ATEM:
But... they...

MANA:
Them... us. Look at them... they are us. What differences do you see?
Aren't we all part of the Circle of Life?

{Atem pauses; the battle has stopped. As Atem and Mana look at one
another, the clouds part and the rain stops. Finally, Atem and his
daughter hug.}

MAI:
Rebecca... now!

REBECCA:
No, Mother! Mana's right. {she walks over to Atem's side, turning
around to face Mai} Enough. {Mai's other servents look shocked}

MAI:
If you will not fight... then you will die as well.

{Some of Mai's servents begin to move over onto Atem's side. Mai's
eyes begin to panic as her whole kindom leaves her.}

MAI:
Wh-wha... Where are you going? Get back here!

ATEM:
Let it go, Mai. It's time to put the past behind us.

MAI:
{now alone} I'll never let it go!

{More logs pile up in the river, forming a dam.}

MAI:
This is for you, Bakura!

{Mai leaps at Atem, but Mana catches her in mid-flight and rolls
over with her; the two tumble down the embankment.}

ATEM:
Mana!

YUGI:
Mana!

{Atem jumps down the slope, trying desperately to reach Mana, but she
and Mai have already fallen too far for him to catch up. Mana manages
to catch a hold on the ledge, slowing her descent enough for her to
jump onto a small ledge. Mai clings to the rocks some distance below
Mana, hanging by her hands.}

TEA:
Hold on, Mana!

{The dam of logs breaks; the river suddenly begins to swell to many
times its normal flow.}

TEA:
Atem! Atem-- the river!

{The river is rapidly rushing to fill the canyon. Atem leaps from rock
face to rock face, trying to reach Mana. Below, Mai hangs
precariously from the rock face. Mana is above on the ledge.}

MANA:
Mai! Give me your hand!

{Mai swipes at Mana, smirking evily. She slips further down the rock face;
she glances at the tumbling water and logs below.}

MAI:
Ahh... ahhh...

MANA:
Mai, come on... I'll help you...

{She slides further down the rock wall, scrabbling for traction on the
rock, but is unable to climb up. A change comes over Mai's face; she
grins slowly up at Mana.}

MAI:
No. ...Never!

{She lets go, and falls back-first into the churning water below. The
water and logs carry her under, and the flow in the canyon gradually
subsides.}

{Yugi looks down where his mother fell, closes his eyes, and lets out a
sigh.}

{Atem is waiting on the rocks near Mana.}

ATEM:
Mana...

MANA:
Daddy... I tried...

TEA:
Mana... oh.

TRISTAN:
Wow... that was really brave!

JOEY:
Yeee-haaa!

{Mana and Yugi approach each other.}

MANA:
Yugi...

YUGI:
Oh, Mana.

ATEM:
Yugi... I was wrong. You belong here.

{Mana leans into Yugi.}

ATEM:
Let's go home... all of us.

{The two kingdoms slowly walk back to Pride Rock, with "We Are One"
playing in the background. Seto blesses the union of Mana and Yugi
with a gesture of his staff.}

TRISTAN:
I love moments like this.

JOEY:
Yeah...

JOEY and TRISTAN:
...Love. Not like... love!

{Mahando isn't amused. Joey and Tristan burst into tears. Mahando shields
himself with his cloak.}

{Atem and Tea lead the procession through the rest of the pride,
flanking them with bowed heads; Mana and Yugi follow. Both couples
make their way to the tip of the Promontory; first Atem smiles, and
then Yugi does. Finally all four smile, and cherr together. The rest of the kingdom cheer in answer.}

{The clouds part, and Atem is illuminated by a sunbeam; we hear the
voice of Aknamkanon from the clouds.}

AKNAMKANON:
Well done, my son. {the spirit of Aknamkanon circles around Atem}

{Seto smiles and nods as the prophecy comes to completion.}

AKNAMKANON:
We are one.

{Cut to black}
