Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles Pregunta

Can anyone explain to me how to watch/read Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles?

I watched the 52 first episodes of Tsubasa and understood the whole story just fine. But then I started watching the OVAs and got really lost. Have I missed something? Are things missing in the series and the OVAs that were written in the manga?
