Dragon Ball Z, a mostrar from many people’s childhood, myself included. It was a mostrar that had stylish animación and art to it, insane battles, and a mostrar where characters would die. In the 90s, this shit was hardcore. Dragon Ball Z has dwindled in popularity recently, still very much popular, but not as much as it once was, probably due to Super being… the worst fucking thing. Hey, speaking of the worst fucking thing, Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Battle 22. Why 22, we’ll get into that. Published por Infograms in America, but Bandai in Japan, the game was developed por Tose Software, who has made a thousand games and have been going strong for forty years, their latest work being WarioWare oro from 2018. So with that in mind, let’s see what one of the first Dragon Ball fighting games are like.

So the game is set around the Buu Saga, the worst saga, with all the characters there for you. tu got Goku, Vegeta, Freezer, Cellphone, Go to hell Tanks, and Krilin. I will say, the roster is pretty impressive, even if all the characters names have trademarks and copyrights at the end. But sadly, this is where the compliments end, because then we get to the game itself. And holy shit, I know I dicho Fighter Within was the worst fighting game I ever played, then Legends of Wrestling II, but I can say with absolute certainty that Ultimate Battle 22 is the worst. I can say that because there are no más fighting games this Christmas. Anyway, yeah, this game is a nightmare to play. It is nearly impossible to pull off special moves. As your A.I. is pulling off some hyper moves and air combos, your dumb character will be too busy doing wimpy little kicks and punches on the ground. It doesn’t help that your punches feel weaker in comparison to the A.I.s. It could just be me, but when the A.I. punches you, it feels like it does half damage. Of course, that could be just because the A.I. can pull off combos and special moves with ease, where I was left mashing my hands against the controller in the hopes of pulling moves on. Are there moves in the manual? Maybe, but my copy didn’t come with the manual. It came in a clear black case, like a fucking ominous package.
There’s also a Build Up mode. This is basically a way to level up your characters so that tu can get them stronger and maybe stand a chance in fights…. Why though? Apparently, fans of this game say this is one of the best parts of it, but tu still gotta do these fights that are garbage and frustrating. Even beating up a shitty Lv. 1 Saiyaman (The level he fucking deserves) was barely a victory becuase he had me down to the lat inch of my health before I beat him. Also, yes, this game has fans. I don’t know how, I don’t know why, but why the fuck are there fans that defend such an awful broken game? Is this their childhood game o something, because oh my god, I am so sorry. I thought my childhood was bad and I grew up in poverty with rats everywhere. But growing up with Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Battle 22 on the playstation 1… yeah, that’s far worse.
Fuck this game. Fuck everything about it. It is incredibly frustrating and not fun to play. And yes, this is all I have to say on the matter. The game is just boring one on one fights. There isn’t even Arcade mode o anything like that. So fuck Ultimate Battle 22 and fuck tu Buu for having the worst saga in the show.
