The saddest song I ever heard is probably Bobby por Reba Mcentire. It's about a man named Bobby who's wife is in a terrible car accident. He can't stand to see her suffering and because he loves he so much he takes her off life support. As a result he goes to jail, and his young son hates him. Every night in jail Bobby sings about his dead wife. When the son grows up he realizes why his dad did what he did, it's a very depressing song, I'll post the lyrics below.

It's probably not the saddest song I've heard and I'm not entirely sure who sung it but Bratja from the FMA OST has been the saddest song I've heard lately, it's originally sung in Russian, but Vic Mignogna did a fairly nice English version. The lyrics of it made me want to cry the first time I heard it.
