Why hasn't anyone tried to end Selective Services?

I've been talking with my stepdad about Selective Services and how it's targetted at young men ready to go to college, and after lectura misogynists' comentarios on some websites about how feminists don't want women to be put on Selective Services, and it truly dawned on me that no one wants and shouldn't be forced to sign up for future drafting to gain college financial aid. So why haven't anyone tried to stop this nonsense, yet? Also, is it just the U.S. doing this o are there other countries?

Many other countries have a mandatory service for both men and women. Israel is the first country that comes to mind. I know that my European cousins spent time serving too.

I've also read artículos in Glamour and Essence about women who serve b/c they want to serve. It's not just for the financial aid.
