Yes.

In my opinion she is a VERY good writer. FYI just beacause she made her vampiros sparkle doesnt mean she is a bad writer. Everyone has different view points on what vampiros are supposed to look like, ect.
After all, vampiros aren't real.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! (i can't stress that enough)

She assumably brought on the whole "OMG-Sparkly-Vampires-Are-Sooooooo-Cool". Ugh. Please shoot me.
I was one of those people way back when, when any type of mythology book about vampires, shapeshifters, hombres lobo and dragones made me want to read them, but since Meyer's books, it's been blown out of porportion.
Frankly, what I think she intended to bring back was the mythology franchise, por adapting vicious, gory, blood-draining beasts and demons of the night, into petty, animal-sucking, sparkly...things that glitter like hell in the sun. No, don't bother bursting into flames, because I think my eyes just did from looking at the sparkles!
Whatever happened to chomp and bite? The rip and tear? The blood-splattered clothing, coffins, corpse-cold beings that I learned to love? Apparently they were dado a major redecorating to fit into every girls' vampire hotty boyfriend dream. Puh-leeze, not EVERY girl on the planet wants a chunk of that wussy. And I am one of those 5% of girls who's role modeled vamp became a sissy cute boy for the other 95% of sooks.
Don't get me wrong, I own the box set, read and re-read them and watched...umm, like half of one of the cine and then I saw "Vampires Suck". Now that was ingenious. That movie alone drew out the main ultra bad plot-links and other stuff I couldn't follow very well, because I was tricked that Twilight was going to be a horror book: instead of the drama, queen-teen hearthrob romance it turned out to be. That alone made me gag.
And the libros themselves were waaaaaay too obvious. The segundo that Bella saw Edward (no, even before that) I knew the ending. Guy is a vampire. Girl loves guy. Guy rejects her, so many times that her fat head can't comprend it, so finally he sends her mixed messages, which yet again she can't envolver, abrigo her head around until the

until they finally get together. Guy bites girl. The end. And, oh, yeah, there's always a triángulo, triángulo de in there somewhere. I guess tu better throw in a werewolf too. And yet-*SPOILER ALERT* (to anyone who hasn't read the last one)-it turns out, Meyer let Jacob run around as a werewolf up until the point that the evil vampiros say that he is a Shapeshifter. This fact alone had confused so many "sparkly-headed" girls that hombres lobo do not transform whenever they want to. It's a gory, brutal process that revolves around the anatomy of both the human/werewolf and the cycle of the moon, putting man and nature in harmony. tu want a werewolf movie? Try "The lobo Man". That will put tu in your place. Hell, "Vampire Diaries", made long before Twilight has a much higher rate of real vampiros than Twilight will ever hope to have. tu wanna argue, go ahead, I stand por it- and I am NOT a Vampire Diaries fan.

Case in point; Meyer, stay away from the vampire genre if you're not going to follow horror protocol. The Host was good though.

Of course. She has managed to become one of the world's most famous writers because of Twilight. She has created a world where blood sucking vampiros are cool and... well, sparkling... The whole vampire-culture ha been turned up side down just because of her.
I don't think Twilight is that good. That has nothing to do with how she writes, but how the world is responding. The Host is amazing, and it is my favourite book. And I read Stephen King, Dan Brown and Ken Follett, I should know what I'm talking about.

Her characters are boring and unoriginal. (No, Meyer, self-hatred is not an original trait.) In Twilight, it's like plot hole heaven o something. The stories are oftentimes anti-clamatic. Twilight is... cliche. Boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love, boy and girl go through rough patch, but live happily ever after. The actual escritura is... awful. She spends too much time describing things repetitively, things that don't always even matter, both in Twilight and the Host.

I don't like how most of the book is describing how Edward looks (In Twilight, obviously.) And I've only read the first book in the series, but I don't want to spend my time lectura how he looks. I like más epic things, where lots of stuff happens. Most of twilight was just her thinking about Edward with small conflict every few chapters. James appeared about halfway through the book. (from what I remember)

I've not read the Host, but I might...

Twilight was.... mediocre. Average. It wasn't "bad", but the characters were cliche and quite boring. And there were several plot errors in it. However, as an aspiring writer myself, I respect any piece of literature and anyone who has taken the time to put it down on paper, no matter how cliche o unoriginal.
I haven't read the Host, but my sister and my friends say that it's good, and I trust their tastes.
One thing that puzzles me is how Twilight got to be the big franchise it is. It is pretty unoriginal. And compared to franchises like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, which were both very unique and intriguing series, it looks completely dull. The fate of the world didn't rest in anybody's hands, only one vampire family, a werewolf, and some boring chick's happiness. And there was no climax, no goal, no point. And I was bored lectura it. I guess just too many teenagers want bloodsucking faeries for boyfriends.
And in reality, boys that "sparkle" aren't all that into girls.

Yes, personally I do. And I say this because I have read all four of the Twilight books. I believe she is a very talented writer, after all, she is the autor of four bestselling books.

I think what some people have a problem with is the plotline. They dislike the idea of it, o story and it's details (note the great debate of shimmering skin. Hey! I like things that sparkle!) but they don't actually pay attention to how well written it is o the rest of the author's role.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I know this, but quite a few of the people who say they despise the Twilight Series, haven't read it, o seen the movies, but simply heard other people's judgements. I mean no offense to anyone there.

Ugh, no. I think her escritura is terrible. She did no research on anything when she started writing. Examples: She knew absolutely nothing about vampiros when she wrote it, she's never even been to Forks, and clearly, she had no idea about the Great Depression in the 30's. Her characters are unoriginal and boring. They are too perfect and it's just annoying.

Well, it depends.

I mean, my Mom's still lectura the 4th Twilight Book, but she says the series is good.

The movies, they were OK. I think that all libros are better than their movie. Even if the book is based off of the movie.

The only thing I hate about her:

Listen lady, I don't know what planet you're from o where tu got the idea, but vampiros DON'T sparkle. Don't go changing the way vampiros are. Non-sparkling, blood-sucking vampiros are what I'm talking about.

Thinks she'd make a good critic,
Kacey (taismo723)

P.S. Stephanie Meyer lives near me. She went to high school with one of my Mom's friends. Just thought you'd like to know that.

P.S.S. Funny thing is, my homeroom/science teacher brought up the Twilight libros during Writing. Probably cuz we were discussing points of view, and it's Bella's point of view in the books.

I'm sure a few people think she's a good writer...but I'm not one of those people.
Sure, she has the ability to write beautiful stories, and I'm sure she could even write poesía if she tried.
But she sucks at coming up with original characters.
In the TWilight Saga:
-Bella is a serious Mary-Sue
-Edward is a stalkerish idiot
--(Bella is okay with this, and that's not good)
-Rosalie seemed to be out of the sexist regime for a while, until her story came out in Eclipse
--(Alice seemed like this also until New Moon, when her "obsession" with fashion started to get annoying)
-Half the characters don't even have fatal flaws, as if they're perfect human beings
And there are just too many errors in her escritura to mention on here. I've heard The Host was a pretty good book compared to every other piece of trash she's written, but I'm just afraid I'm going to get let down again, so I'm not going to read it.
Twilight, honestly, was a very good idea. I just wish someone else had written it so it hadn't been so...botched.

Yes, many people do. It really depends on what tu mean por "Good writer," though, doesn't it? I don't think the Twilight libros are well-written (nor well proofread o edited), but that doesn't necessarily mean that Meyer is not a good writer. In the marketplace, she is an excellent writer, because she produces not only wildly best-selling books, but she produces them quickly. Socially, she can be called a good writer, in that she makes many people (who didn't read before) want to read. Culturally, she's a good writer in that she has changed a lot of the dialogs about vampires, teen entertainment, and amor stories. On fanpop alone, there is a very large amount of critical discussion about Meyer's books. The book publishing industry has changed to accommodate many más stories "in the vein of" Meyer's libros (people like the idea of a formula), which wouldn't have happened in the same way without Meyer. Similarly, the films based on her libros have done monster business for both the film and inicial video industries, as well as spawned an apparently unending amount of parody in all media. A writer could do a lot worse than try for this kind of influence. Are the stories well-crafted and reflect a mastery of plot and the English language? I don't think so, but in virtually every other respect, Meyer's escritura is a gigantic success. It's a good writer who manages to do all that without the benefit of skills in the craft of writing.
