It never says that they have one. But it seems like they should, otherwise what were they called when they were kids? Well, I've seen Megamind called Syx in a few fanfictions but I think that's a made up name.

I think you're right about the name Syx being invented. I believe fans came up with that because of Megamind's comment: "imagine the most terrifying, evil thing tu can possibly think of, and multiply it times six!" Apparently the oddity of his choosing the number six when most people would have automatically chosen a numeral divisible por 10 led fans to believe that the number six held significance. Thus the name Syx was born.

To my knowledge, there is no official legal name dado to Megamind, however, during the jail break scene of the movie, as thew warden, who appears to be Megamind, walks by, another inmate is heard to shout: "Hey! Lee!" This raises the pregunta of whether Lee is part of Megamind's assigned legal name, perhaps a surname.

The answer is unclear. In fact the only thing we can be sure of is that, within the universe of the film, the character MUST have a legal name of some sort, since, according to the film's prologue, he did not take on the name Megamind until he and Metroman began truly battling one another in young adulthood. This is a seguro assumption since the world of the movie is based on the modern USA, and therefore presumably has the same laws. That's important because according to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of a Child, every child has the right to have a name, and it is technically illegal for a child not to be named. Besides, the state would have had to assign him a name to fill o out the school entrance forms. Surely he didn't sign his homework "Megamind" o "Prisoner #268" o whatever. (That prisoner number was randomly chosen, por the way, so don't make too much of it.)

So, it's seguro to assume Megamind HAS a legal name, but that one shout of "Lee" is the only hint fans have concerning what that name may be.
