If he wanted other women, he could have them. And she wouldn’t even dream of trying to cut him out of the kids lives. Yes, he had broken her corazón -so much so that she was slowly falling into a depression- but she also knew he loved his children and wouldn’t dare dream of trying to separate them from their father.
The día after her breakdown, she went to go speak with a lawyer. She didn’t want this to be a messy divorce, that would hurt the children. She had only asked for two things; full custody -but he could see them any time he wished to- and their home.
She wouldn’t have taken their home, but moving the kids would be a traumatic experience, and only so much change could be tolerated at a such a young age. She didn’t want his money, she had enough. If she needed to, she could always put that Yale degree in law to good use. She had explained this all in a letter that she had left for Chuck on their bed.
As she signed the papers, she cried. She loved him, and always would, but she wanted him to be happy. She also felt as if she had lost apart of herself. That scheming, quick-witted, clever girl, that Chuck had fallen in amor with had slowly disappeared away over time. Maybe now, she could finally find herself again.
After dropping the papers off to her lawyer, she packed up her kids, acebo Grace and Parker Bartholmule, and traveled across the ocean, to a place of comfort. Her father’s vineyard.

“WHAT THE HELL!” Chuck was outraged. He knew that him and Blair were going through a tough time, but divorce! Had she completely lost her mind? He had to talk to her NOW.
“Beth cancelar the rest of my meetings for the day, and call Jack to do the meeting in Tokyo.” Chuck dicho as he hurriedly walked out of his office at bajo Inc.
“Yes, of course, Mr. Bass.” She replied after him.
As he flew towards their penthouse, Chuck was trying to figure out some way to make it all better again between him and Blair. She wanted couples counselling? Sure! Get them in their A.S.A.P. What about a romantic trip to Tuscany? He still hadn’t taken her there yet. Anything she wanted he’d give her, just not a divorce.
The elevator ride up seemed like an eternity, and when he finally reached the penthouse he called out for his wife. However there was no answer.
“Blair?” He asked again.
Still silence. He trudged up the stairs to his kids rooms.
“Holly? Parker?”
Nothing. Then he checked the master bedroom.
“Blair?” He ventured again.
There was something on their bed. Was it a letter? He walked over to it, picked it up and sat down on the silk comforter on their perfectly made bed. On the front was his name, written in her perfect cursive. He tore it open wildly, scared at what it might say.
Dear Charles,
I’m sorry that it has to come to this, but I just can’t live this lie anymore. I don’t want your money, all I ask for is full custody of the children because it’s not fair for them to live with you, considering your travel schedule for work. You’ve been the best father any mother could wish for, for her children and tu may see them anytime tu would like. My only other request is that we may reside in the penthouse, where the children have grown up. I would ask if tu could have your belongings moved out por the time we come back, which will be in two weeks. If tu have any other questions, tu may call my lawyer. Again, I’m sorry for how our marriage has turned out. I hope we can remain friends.

He felt a couple tears escape as he came to this realization. But he couldn’t help feel that Blair still loved him and since he still loved her, maybe they could still salvage this union. But first he had to find her and his kids.
“Hello?” asked a familiar voice.
“Hi Serena, it’s Chuck. Do tu know where Blair is?”
“Probably out shopping, have tu tried her cell?” she answered like it was a pretty obvious answer.
“No,” was all he could say.
“Well, then Chuck..”
“No, Serena,” he cut her off. “She left me. I was served with divorce papers this morning. She took acebo and Parker, and wrote me a letter saying she’d be back in two weeks and that I should be moved out when she got back.”
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry Chuck. Blair kind of hinted tu guys were having problems, but I thought it was just over how she wanted to re-do your bedroom.”
“Do tu think this is a joke?” He asked harshly.
“No not at all, I’m truly sorry Chuck. But I just don’t know where she could be.”
“Okay, well I thought I’d give tu a call just in..”
“Wait!” She cut him off. “This isn’t the first time she’s tried to run away.”
“What are tu talking about?” They had been married for six years and yet he’d never known this.
“Well remember in junior año at Constance when she slept with you, and Nate found out through that Gossip Girl blast? Well, everyone had turned their backs on her and she had decided she was going to mover in with her dad and Roman in France. But I managed to stop her in time.”
“Oh,” was all that Chuck managed to say.
“Yah… well maybe try their vineyard. B would want to be somewhere comfortable at a time like this, where she could be surrounded por people who care for her.”
“Thanks Serena.”
“Don’t mention it Chuck. Just find our girl, fix this and tell her I’m sorry for not being there for her.”
“I will, and thanks again.” and with that he hung up. Called the companies private jet, and flew to fix the heart, he had managed to break once again.
