After giving birth to Melody - do tu think Ariel would have been pressured to reproduce a male heir for the throne? Atlantica doesn't seem to have these traditions. How do tu think she would've handled it?
Lets put a bit of history into the DP fantasía worlds - in Atlantica it seems that the Royal hierarchy is equal. It's not a sexist society; the chosen son o daughter can rule respectfully. There's no fixed tradition o rules that say only a specific gender can take the trono to rule the Kingdom.
Whereas in the human world it would've been much different.
Okay Eric is a young prince who lost his parents and was raised por servants. He's lax and might not give a damn about the hierarchy social norms. Which is fine. But Grimsby and the Kingdom have an influence on him to follow them. Like for example; getting married and settling down which was mentioned in the first film.
Ariel on the other hand was born as a mermaid, a rebellious one. Her sister formerly Aquata, now Attina was trained por Triton to rule the Kingdom. The other sisters spent most of their time grooming o presumably spending time with their boyfriends. Ariel never had anything to do in Palace - no training, no chores, she had lessons with Sebastian from time to time but otherwise she was free to do whatever she wanted.
How far would they be able to push away these traditions? I'm thinking of Anne Boleyn and Marie Antoinette, when I say this.
This is a historical fantasía what if scenario.
