“Artemis?”
The archer looked up at the sound of her name. Zatanna stood in her doorway, looking uneasy.
“Zatanna. Come on in.”
The sorceress entered, closing the door.
“I thought tu were with Robin.”
“That's actually why I'm here.”
Zatanna sat on the edge of Artemis' cama and looked at her friend.
“Robin's in a predicament.”
“Is he okay?”
“Not emotionally.”
“Who did it? Who's been doing it?”
“Well, I don't want to point fingers but...Wally.”
“What? How? Those to are joined at the hip!”
“Not recently. Wally's avoiding Robin. And Robin's in amor with him.”
“Odd. I always thought it was you.”
Zatanna blushed but continued.
“If only. Look, I really like Robin. He doesn't deserve to be hurt. Yet Wally never has anything to do with Robin. I want to know why Wally is hurting my little bird.”
Artemis smirked.
“You're little bird?”
Zatanna blushed again, this time looking away.
“I like to think of him as mine,” she admitted. “But until I know Wally's feeling, I can't have anything to do with Robin. Not romantically.”
“So what are tu doing in here? I'm not a romance expert.”
“No but tu have Wally's trust. He doesn't like me. So will tu please find out for me?”
Artemis blinked.
“You're kidding, right?”
“No! I mean it. Please help me. And if not for my sake, do it for Robin! He's been so sad.”
Artemis had to admit it; the Boy Wonder had been doing más wandering and less laughing. Sure every now and then his laugh would appear. But it was less and less. What had become a famous cackle on missions was now a reminder of the old Robin. And if it didn't get better soon, Robin may leave Young Justice forever. Looking in Zatanna's big baby blue eyes, Artemis nodded.
“Alright. I'll do it for Robin. I just hope it's not too late.”
Wally groaned as a knock sounded on his door.
“I'm sleeping,” he shouted.
“You wouldn't be replying,” Artemis' annoying voice shouted back.
Wally groaned again, but called entrance. Artemis entered, stepping cautiously into Wally's war zone. She made a face at the smell and mess.
“Ugh! Haven't tu heard of cleaning up?”
“Yeah. I just never understood that phrase.”
Artemis gagged and opened a window. She took in a few breaths of clean air before moving to sit por the pouting speedster.
“What do tu want?” he huffed.
“How do tu feel about Robin?”
Wally blinked, surprised. But he recovered quickly.
“Why would tu care? Plan to fecha him?”
“No. Zatanna is. And she thinks tu have feelings for Robin.”
“Ha! That's ludicrous!”
“Nice vocabulary. But seriously. How do tu feel?”
“Rob's cool, I guess. But he spends más time around Zatanna than me so why should I care about him? He's never once spoken to me since she got here.”
“I had a talk with Robin earlier. He says you're avoiding him.”
“I'm so not! He just never notices when I'm around. He's too busy with Zatanna.”
Artemis leaned closer, loving how flustered Wally was getting every time she asked más questions.
“Are tu sure? tu seem very upset.”
“Not.”
“Zatanna has Robin's attention.”
“Yep.”
“You should do something.”
“Why?”
“You amor him.”
“Don't.”
As if to prove his answer, Wally smacked his lips against Artemis'. He kissed her passionately but it couldn't have been a worse time. A whimper came from the open doorway and por the time the two looked up, a fleeing Robin was barley seen. Shit! Artemis thought. Anger boiled inside her and she hit the closest thing to her; Wally.
“You idiot! Look what you've done! I was trying to help Robin! He loves tu moron! Although I can't see why; you're nothing but a two-timer! Even worse, I think tu just made Robin leave Young Justice for good!”
Artemis rushed out of the room, leaving a stunned Wally alone. Robin loved him? No way! What about Zatanna? Wally recalled something Robin dicho in an earlier conversation. 'If I had to forget about some one, I'd probably find a replacement...' The thought sunk in. If Robin needed to forget someone...if Robin needed to forget Wally...he'd find a replacement...he'd find Zatanna. If Robin had to give up on someone he loved, he'd find somebody else. Oh shit! I just...and Robin...oh shit! What have I done?! Wally stood and sped around the mountain, looking for his best friend. He found him against a wall. Unfortunately, Robin was attached to Zatanna and her besar red lips.
