Chapter VII-

"So where exactly are we going?" acebo asked.

Revenge looked at her and she shut up.

The two continued to navigate the town until they reached a less populated area. They looked around, but couldn't find whatever Revenge was looking for. After a moment, they grappled up to the roof of a building overlooking most of the street.

They sat in silence for a while until Courage spoke.

"What was Stalin referring to during the last part of your conversation with him?" acebo asked, pulling her mask off.

Revenge looked at her before replying.

"What happened is history, don't bother with it, kid." he said.

"History's my favorito! subject." she said.

"Well I hate it." Revenge replied.

"Oh come on, it can't be that bad."

acebo could tell his exact expression from under his mask, but it wasn't good.

"Can it?"

Revenge sighed and pulled his mask off.

"About two years ago, I was living a normal life. Typical teenager in school. Friends, girlfriend."

acebo raised an eyebrow.

"What?" he asked. "You aren't the first female I met!"

acebo rolled her eyes and Sam continued.

"My dad secretly worked with Bruce Wayne. He was planning this big project with Mr. Wayne. Unfortunately, he died before he could complete the transaction."

acebo put her arm on Sam's shoulder.

"I'm sorry-" she said.

"Don't bother." Sam said, shaking her hand off. "Official reportar is he jumped off the parte superior, arriba of a warehouse. But I knew that wasn't true. I donned a costume and with the help of Vendicta-"

"Who?"

"Don't worry about it." Sam dicho quickly. "Anyway, I went off to find out what really happened. Turns out someone threw him off the building. I looked for the killer, but never found him."

acebo looked at him with an expression of pity. "Sam, I'm sorry. I never knew."

"There are a lot of people on the Team that have worse stories. For instance, Robin's whole family was murdered in front of him when he was nine. Artemis's family-. Aqualad's dad is pretty messed up. The lista goes on."

"Is it so hard for tu to let anyone try to be nice to you?" acebo asked.

Sam's face hardened as lightning flashed. acebo wished she hadn't asked.

"Emotion clouds your judgment." Sam dicho bitterly.

"Oh-Kay..." acebo said.

Sam sat there for a minuto until he slipped his mask on and stood up, cape billowing in the wind.

"We need to go." he said. Courage slipped her mask on and grappled down with Revenge. The two landed in the calle and walked around. Courage could tell Revenge wished he hadn't brought her along, but she had a sneaky feeling he was out for más than a midnight stroll.

The two walked in silence until Revenge slipped into an alleyway. Courage heard sounds of paper being rustled and something getting tossed into the muro a few times before Revenge emerged.

"There's a guy who dicho he saw the Soviets up this street." Revenge said.

"You sure he's telling the truth?" Courage asked.

"Of course," Revenge dicho like it was obvious. "I interrogated---asked him."

The two walked down the designated calle to where the Soviets were supposed to be. Nothing was there.

Suddenly, gangsters dropped down from all sides surrounding Revenge and Courage.

"You have got to be kidding me? This is the best you've got?" Revenge asked.

"Youre going down, American! Cape o not!" one of the gang members dicho in very poor English.

"You and what army?"

Twenty más gang members with pistolas dropped down.

"Just had to ask, didn't you?" Courage said.

--------------------------------------------

Megan sat up in cama and yawned.

"Connor?" she asked. Superboy grumbled something in his sleep and turned over.

"Connor."

"Yeah M'gann?" Connor replied.

"I've got a bad feeling."

"About what?" Connor said, definitely más awake.

"About Revenge and Courage."

"What's wrong?"

"I don't know, they're out of my range and-"

M'gann froze. "They're out of my range which means they're not in their hotel!"

"Are tu sure?" Superboy asked.

"Positive." M'gann said. "Aqualad set up all of the hotels to be within my telepathic range. They're not in my range so they aren't in the hotel!"

"I'll get the communicator." Superboy sighed.

--------------------------------------------

Revenge grabbed one of the downed gang members por the collar. He was about to pick him up when he turned to Courage.

"You might want to leave." he said. "Shadows have nothing on my interrogation methods."

Courage backed out of the alley, trying not to trip over unconscious gangsters.

Revenge grabbed the guy por the throat and rammed him into the muro "Tell me the truth this time. Where. Is. Stalin?"

"I don't know!" the guy protested.

Revenge stabbed a dagger into the muro a few millimeters from the guys head.

"Are tu sure? Because I really don't want to have to do this the hard way."

"Who do tu think tu are, Batman? I've come across batman before, and trust me, you're no Batm-"

Revenge punched him in the face. "Do I look like Batman?" he demanded.

"No, of course not. Sorry I offended you, it's just-"

"Losing. My. Patience."

"Fine, fine. Abandoned building two miles northeast from here. Looks like nothing, but it's all high tech. Rumor is Stalin is there. That's all I've got!"

"Thanks." Revenge said, before knocking him out.

--------------------------------------------

"No answer." Connor said. "They must have turned off their communicators."

"But why would they do that?"

--------------------------------------------

Revenge delivered a kick to one guards stomach while Courage knocked the other guard out.

Revenge activated infrared in his sunglasses and scanned.

"Bunch of soldiers." he said. He stabbed a dagger into the door.

"Down." he said.

The blast blew the door open causing smoke and debris to fly and confusion to grip the Soviets.

Revenge walked in, throwing a few daggers at the group of soldiers. Gas erupted from them and the guards fell to the ground unconscious.

Revenge walked upstairs and kicked open the door to the main room. Nobody was there. Revenge whirled around and was immediately thrown back into the muro por a heavy blow.

Revenge sat up and saw the missing soldiers pointing their rifles at him.

Courage tossed a gas grenade towards them and they collapsed.

"Too easy." Revenge said.

"Yeah," Courage replied.

"Let's go." Revenge said.

--------------------------------------------

Courage and Revenge had searched half the town for the Soviets, but could find them. They had looted three Soviet bases but found nothing.

acebo was sitting on the edge of the roof when her communicator rang.

"Don't answer." Revenge said, stopping his pacing on the roof.

"Why shouldn't I answer?" acebo asked.

"They'll track us." Revenge said. "Last thing I need is fishboy to tell me what and how to do things."

"What do tu despise so much about them?" acebo asked, slipping her communicator back into her belt.

"They're too lenient." Revenge said.

"I'm forgiving." acebo said.

"Not as much as they are." Revenge said, sitting down.

"And may I ask what's wrong with being lenient?" acebo asked.

"Makes tu weak."

"You know who tu sound like?"

"Yeah, I've heard it a few times."

acebo looked at him. That's when Revenge spotted his siguiente target.
