Wuthering Heights Pregunta

at the end of the book,MRS.Dean dicho heathcliff was ghoulishly happy.he knew he was going to die,oviously,and he didnt eat and the night of his death was horrific.can any one explain just what was happening!!!???

Everyone thought he was happy because after he died he was umm seen on the moors por the villagers and even Joseph apparently. H & C never believed in a heaven - not for himself and Nelly believed that he couldn't enter heaven because of his deeds and his apparent wanderings equalled him being 'ghoulishly happy' as tu put it
