Does anyone know what does the red flor on the cover of new moon book mean?

The flor for New Moon is a ruffled tulip. It represents Bella, and how she wilts, but does not die in the experience in New Moon. It is meant to mostrar strenghth, and beauty. The red parts are meant to symbolise her blood, where she smashes the bowl the flores were in. It was a turning point.(:

Since this is the one and only cover that Stephenie didn't have a hand in... no one knows. It just looks pretty.
