Just seen this episode. Elijah deserved to die, afterall he was going to kill elena in the end. But i think that now katherine is back again, i think she will pull the dagger out of Elijah, so he will return again.

holy crap, i thought the same thing! then she was showering in Damon's room and i have a bad feeling that he'll fall for her again :( damn...
being an original I think that Elijah is "Dead" until they need him to help with Klaus. I say "Dead", because tu can't kill an original without a spell and the dagger. The whole old fashioned thing.
