I hope so anyways!

This is the first thing i thought of when it was mentioned that Katherine was the original petrova dopplegagner i was like then who its the original Elena/Katherine? and how many have there been over the centuries!?

^I'm not sure Katherine was the first doppelganger. It's always been something I've wondered about... I mean, for all we know, the original girl might be from way before 100 A.D. I'd really love to know more about the topic. Hopefully TVD will explore it soon, and not just ignore it...

The Petrova that bound the curse wasn't a doppelganger, I think. Katherine said that the doppelganger was created as a way to undo the curse and that made me think that Katherine was the first one because I I believe that if there were other doppelgangers before Katherine Klaus would've had the chance to break the curse before Kat. I don't belive Klaus failed 2 times (at least), he doesn't seem like the kind of vampire to fail.
And I'm VERY intrigued by the first Petrova, I want to know who she was, her name, when was she killed... and I also would LOVE to know something about Katherine's daughter.

God, I really really hope so! That would so damn amazing! Seeing Nina play another role.
And I'd like to know about the other doppelgangers too. Or was Katherine the first?
