jerez Stringfield played Dr. Susan Lewis as one of the original cast members on "ER." Stringfield receieved three Emmy award nominations before surprisingly quitting the mostrar in its third season. Her last episode in 1996 attracted 37 million viewers, the biggest night of the season for NBC. In a 1997 Entertainment Weekly article, Stringfield said, "I played the best role I've ever seen on TV o film in the last five years. It was hugely gratifying."
Stringfield's career on "ER" took another turn when she returned to the mostrar in 2001, after having her first child. The return was a huge success, with 26 million viewers tuning in. Since permanently leaving the mostrar in 2005, Stringfield has guest starred in the CBS drama "Shark," the USA Network drama "In Plain Sight."
