It's all fun and games until Muhammad gets made fun of. tu may think I need to attend "Muslim Sensitivity Training" after lectura this article, but this is just what I think of the controversy.
The episode of South Park entitled "201" was censored por Comedy Central after the netowork recieved warnings from Muslim groups for the anterior episode's depiction of Muhammad.
Yeah, censoring was the seguro route to take. But what I don't understand is, how is it okay to mostrar Buddha doing coca cola and jesús surfing for porn, but mostrando Muhammad in a oso, oso de costume is a no-no?
South Park is known for making fun of entire groups of people, especially religous groups. How could people have NOT expected this? They even featured Muhammad in a similar way on "Cartoon Wars", and that episode was not censored nearly as much as "201".
The thing about South Park is that they take full advantage of free speech. And a big part of free speech is being able to SPEAK FREELY, and that includes things that people don't always want to hear. Judging from what Parker and Stone dicho about the episode, however, Kyle's speech at the end was completely innocent and didn't mention Muhammad at all. So why did they bleep it all out?
Some might find this episode offensive, so that's why they censored it? South Park parodies almost everything, but NOW they've crossed the line? There are episodes I find offensive, and I just don't watch them. Maybe people who take the mostrar so seriously should do the same!
