Yes, a bat is a flying mammal in the Chiropteran ( comes from two Greek words, cheir "hand" and pteron "wing.") order. They are also known as flying foxes. There are so many types of Bats but they do so many things like, take care of the insect population and are vital ecological by distribution seeds!!!! Today their being threatened by some diseases like White nose syndrome!!! But as always human mythologies have given bats a bad name!! But Bats are also one of the creatures on earth, that represent a greater symbiotic balance for us all!!!
scary my brothers mess around with them during the night...they throw things up in the air and the bats sence them and fly really reaally low and they scare the crap our of me. (one almost came down and hit me hit me in the head :( )

and for some reason I hate vampire bats, not the vampires I like them :)(
