Chapter Two
Flash Floods and Birth

Ellis felt like he was thrown into another world. His dad was Apollo. But nothing ever suggested that could happen when we learned Greek mythology last year, Ellis thought. How did this happen to me? That was one of his preguntas swirling in his mind.
Soon, Ellis saw himself thrashing about in the waters, heading to Long Island. He was on the shoreline por then, coughing in the murky greenish water. There was a pine árbol ahead. He crawled over to the árbol and sat there, dripping and exhausted.
Two people had come out of nowhere and helped him up. Ellis was dizzy and could only make out a blurry sight of them. They seemed to be wearing bright naranja shirts. Ellis had dyslexia, so it was hard to decipher what it said. It seemed to say:
AMPC H-LABFOOLD
“Are tu okay?” One of the two dicho that, but Ellis’s temporarily blurry sight made him unable to know who dicho what.
The other one asked, “Who are you?”
“Ellis,” he replied, so raspy it was almost incoherent. He had only hazy memories of the past hour.
“Hi, I’m Annabeth.”
The other one didn’t greet, but the one named Annabeth hit the boy in the elbow and he replied to Ellis.
“Okay, okay! I’m Percy.”
Ellis spit something out of his mouth. It was the birth certificate, somehow still in one piece. The one named Percy got it and read it.
Percy showed it to Annabeth, and her eyes widened.
“Welcome to the club,” she said.
“Huh?” Ellis was dumbfounded.
“Camp Half-Blood,” Percy said. “Do tu have dyslexia?”
Ellis nodded.
“That makes sense. Can tu play an instrument? Apollo’s the god of music.” Annabeth turned to Percy for extra truth.
“How am I supposed to know?”
Ellis played something suddenly. It was a golden lyre, what Apollo is depicted playing.
“Yup, you’re the son of Apollo.”
The two kids from Camp Half-Blood helped Ellis up and truthfully told him what Camp Half-Blood was. They didn’t want to get on Apollo’s bad side, since he was also the god of truth, the reason why Ellis’s drawings always come true.
“… It’s awesome,” Percy said.
“It is,” Annabeth dicho for reassurance.
“How did tu get here? Your certificate says that tu were born in Connecticut. That’s TC, right? I have dyslexia, too.”
“I thought it was CT,” Ellis replied.
“Who cares about the abbreviation of Connecticut? We’re about to cruzar, cruz the property line,” Annabeth said. “Oh, por the way, that pine árbol tu saw was Thalia’s pine, basically. Everyone knows the story. Do you?”
“We did Greek mythology in class last year. Although now that I see this, I don’t think it’s a myth anymore. They should call it truth-ology.” Ellis gasped for breath after speed-talking.
Percy and Annabeth cracked up as they crossed the property line.
“The only seguro haven for demigods,” Annabeth dicho as they approached.
“Huh?”
“Demigods is another way to say half-blood, dummy.”
“Percy, he’s new! Don’t call him a dummy. Call me one.”
“I already called tu a dummy and the opposite,” Percy said.
“Whoa,” Ellis gaped at Camp Half-Blood.
I laid there for a few minutes. I saw dusty cobwebs coating the roof. On one of the walls, someone had written “PERCY JACKSON LOVES ANNABETH CHASE” in big red letters. Well, I thought, I’m going to need to paint over that. My mind trailed off. My dad had been lying to me my whole life. Then my mind trailed off, and somehow I got on the topic of Lauren. I thought about how I hadn’t seen her in the crowd when I got claimed. My corazón sank. Whenever I had an archery tournament just at my archery range, she would be there, cheering me on. Here I was; claimed por some immortal goddess and...

A few minutos later Annabeth came back with Chiron. She looked like she was about to cry, while Chiron just looked extremely concerned.

"What? What did I do?" I asked. No one was answering my questions.

"Annabeth. Go get Artemisia a place in cabina 11 for now. Tell Luke that she needs a spot now." Chiron dicho in a very strict voice.

Annabeth ran down the colina towards a set of 12 cabins. The strange thing was that each cabina was different. There was a red one, and oro one and the one that caught my eye, was the glowing silver one.

I cringed at the thought of having to stay in a cabina with at least...

Percy POV
When I woke up with Annabeth in my arms we were on a train moving across the country side. "Good morning." I heard in my head. I dicho good morning back. I laid there with Annabeth in my arms, thinking. I wonder what would've happened if Michael didn't find us. I thought. We could've been at my house for those first three days and... probably be bored out of my mind. The truth was, it was fun on that quest. Minus Jillian getting killed and Michael having an eternal scar on his neck, it was fun never the less....

Sitting on the steps, I heard a hollow noise that meant someone was walking over to me. por means of just turning my head, I saw that it was Percy, who sat down beside me. We were quiet for a few minutes, just looking out at the cloudless sky and the to-the-death satyrs vs. demigods baloncesto game. Just after a buff-looking girl pelted a javelin at a satyr, causing him to drop the ball, Percy said, "I know how tu feel. About being here."
I shook my head. "I'm not sure tu do, man."
"I think I do. I came here in the pit of night with my mom and a satyr-Grover- in a cheap car. The car blew up,...

LANCE EVAN'S POV
I watched Delana as she grinned and did a small victory dance. I figured this was something big for her, even though we haven't even won the game yet. I have to admit, in all my 15 years I had never seen someone so... well, pretty, I guess, (don't tell her I dicho that unless tu want your teeth kicked in), but I don't know, just, unique. Yeah, that's the word. She was different, in her own way, and didn't care what other people thought. I have to say, that's one of the reason I stick around this place. And after seeing her fight Hammy Buckwell, well it was pretty impressive. I noticed then that was staring at her doing her little dance. Unfortunately, she noticed too and stopped. We locked eyes, but I turned away uncomfortably, clearing my throat.
Just then, a huge roar echoed through the woods. Then, a 2-ton drakon came crashing through the woods.
