Can anybody tell me what the song, Mad World, is really about ?

I think it's pretty straight forward.. But okay.

The song starts off with the speaker sitting somewhere, surrounded por people he hasn't seen in a while. They're all sad and crying, somewhere they don't really want to be. A funeral, most likely.

Next, the chorus seems to be about his confusion with understanding his emotions. He used to be okay with thinking about death, but now that he's experiencing it happening to a loved one, he's not so sure about what he thinks of it. Is it happy? is it sad? He doesn't know

The siguiente part is comparing himself to a child. Children are told how to behave. While you're sitting in a funeral, it's proper to be sad. It's not exactly okay for tu to be happy.

Then the chorus returns. He's repeating to himself how confused he is.



So pretty much, the speaker believes that death is just another part of life. He never understood why people would get so sad about it, but now that he knows someone who's dead, this changes. *

The Moral/purpose:
*It's always confusing when something you've believed your entire life suddenly starts to change.

i think mad world is about...........ummmmm........like a person whose whole life is really kinda diff and he is himself kinda confused and depressed with the way his life takes him and it's just turmoil! thats atleast wat i think and ofcourse i am not sure if i am right!

It's about a world gone crazy!!!
