why should Elrond be a worse parent?

Elrond protects his children, wants the best for them.
Denethor ignores his youngest and tells Faramir that he want him dead.
Denethor wins this pick 100%
and whoever chose Elrond: screw you

Yes, Denethor is the kind of character you just want to punch hard...and John Noble plays him perfectly!!!
The insanity...just perfect!
I love the scene where he eats while Faramir rides into battle....one of my favourite scenes!

Denethor is horrible to Faramir but realises he loves him in the end. Elrond... what on earth has Elrond done wrong?

Elrond just wanted what he thought was best for Arwen...
Deneathor, on the other hand, actually said he wished Faramir had died instead of Boromir and tried to burn him when he was still alive. insanity.

I always loved Boromir more than Faramir.

...sometimes the parents loves first(or second) child more than second(or first).

It`s not mean that this parents are terrible.

It`s life. It is reality.

So I never was angry on Denathor because i could understand him.
