This is just a really quick ONE-SHOT. I am right now, inside my mother's camioneta, van while she is going insane because my sister won't shut up. My dad took my sister up to the church, so my mother could be calm, and left me here to make sure she is safe. What is the meaning of life? Why were animals, humans, and many other wondrous creatures put on this earth? My only guess would be science. To establish a higher society, and make más modern technology and gadgets to help us survive this world. This place. Our inicial environment. I pulled my goggles down, because a draft of air entered through the door of the HQ, and entered my eyes which caused occasional stings of pain.
I had been trying to figure out what the TOTAL meaning of life was for the whole zoo. I asked everyone, a couple of animales having the same answer, which made me think that one of those that had a couple of votos would be the true meaning. I really hoped so.
I smiled, looking down at my data that had been collected. The one that had the most votos was the answer of There isn't any true meaning. I felt my vision blur as I noticed that it was probably right. So, would we just die, and our marks would be erased off this earth forever? Never to be remembered? o missed? Probably so. I am just a penguin, after all.
I looked at all the people who voted on it. Eight. Eight animales felt as if this was just a life meant to wear us down. Eight animales were the ones who didn't feel great about being to take another puff of air every 5 seconds. Eight. Eight was a pretty high number for me.
I looked at all my results, scanning through the respuestas dado por everyone. Then, I noticed I was missing someone. Who was it? I rescanned my papers, and I just couldn't notice who. Who could it possibly be? My head began tingling with pain, the impatience filling my insides.
"K'Walski?" Someone said. I didn't even have to turn around, o even ask. In my first try, I got it right. How could I not? His voice was extremely distinguishable, and it was pretty amazing to me. His vocal sounds made me smile, I found it sweet in a way, others found it disturbing.
"What is it, Rico? I'm very busy." I didn't even look, not because I didn't want to, but because I had to find who it was, whom I was searching for. Then, something popped in my head. Rico. Rico was the one that was missing in the chart. How could I actually miss him? It wasn't possible to me.
"Play!" Rico said, throwing a small, sponge ball at me. It hit my head and then bounced back at him, hitting him in the face. He closed his eyes tightly and shook the little pain off. He then looked back up and went to his regular smile that he had whether it was a good o a bad situation.
"Rico, what is the meaning of life?" I sighed and sat correctly, facing his blue eyes. I smiled as he shrugged, his tongue dangling out of the left side of his beak. I waved my flipper in his face and the sucked his tongue back in and smiled.
"Rico?" I repeated. Rico grabbed my clipboard. I was about to pull it away, extremely angry, but then I noticed that he began to write what HIS meaning of life was. I looked down and I felt a low blush.
He made a quick drawing of a heart. Besides the heart, two penguins stood at each side, one smiling, and the other with some goggles. I couldn't easily distinguish who they were, but I thought that maybe the one smiling was a girl, since she had a little bit of hair at the parte superior, arriba of her head.
"Love." Rico whispered, and he giggled a little as he pointed at the picture of the girl. Maybe he liked that girl. Maybe the one with the goggles was meant to be him. He did enjoy wearing goggles a lot, because he usually took them out when he threw dynamite right in front of his face. There. The drawing made sense.
"Love?" I looked at the other results. NOBODY had picked amor as their meaning of life. Only Rico had. Rico always told us about his love-mush sensitivity? What was going on with him now? Where did that Rico go?
"But-your love-mush sensitivity? Aren't tu against all this?" I asked, appalled that he actually had those current beliefs.
"Hide. Love." Rico said. With those couple of words, I understood as much as if he had dicho a handful. Rico hid that he enjoyed the love-mush because of the fear of something. Fear of what? A secret getting out? Maybe.
"I understand." I nodded. Rico wrapped his flippers around my shoulders, making me feel warm inside. I smiled. I enjoyed having him around, and I loved how friends were like that with me.
I sighed and then looked at my research as I continued to hug Rico. Eight. Eight people didn't enjoy life. Eight would never HAVE a life. Eight people thought the worst. Eight people were wrong.
My eyes looked at Rico's drawing, using peripheral vision. I could see the picture perfectly, except because of an occasional blur that crossed my sight. I analyzed the picture a little longer and my eyes bubbled when I finally noticed who was the one with the goggles, and who was the one with the hair. I took off my goggles and set the on the table, then ruffled Rico's Mohawk as he chuckled.
