Lucy ran into a compartment and leaned against the door, panting. The two boys looked at her, their brows furrowed.

“Oh,” she dicho when she saw them. “Sorry. I told off some boys and they got mad and started chasing me,” she rubbed her arm where one of the kids had punched her.

“It’s okay,” a boy with tapped up glasses said. Lucy sat siguiente to the other boy.

“I’m Lucy, por the way,” she said.

“I’m Harry.”

“Ron.”

“Cool rat,” Lucy dicho to Ron. He smiled.

“His name Scabbers. Wanna see a spell to make him turn yellow?” he asked.

“Sunshine-“ he started. The door opened and everyone looked up.

“Has anyone seen a toad? A boy named Neville’s lost one,” a girl said.

“Hey Hermione,” Lucy waved.

“Oh there tu are,” Hermione said, sitting across from her. “I’ve been looking everywhere for you.”

“Yeah, I had to get away from some boys.”

Hermione sighed. “You got angry again didn’t you?” Lucy smiled. Ron and Harry exchanged a look. Hermione looked over to see Ron, who still had his wand out.

“Oh, you’re doing magic? Let’s see then,” she said. Lucy sighed.

Ron cleared his throat again. “Sunshine, daisies, mantequilla mellow. Turn this stupid fat rata yellow,” the rata squeaked, but nothing else happened.

Hermione raised her eyebrow. “Are tu sure that’s a real spell? Well, it’s not very good is it. I’ve been practicing a few spells of my own,” she pointed her wand at Harry’s face. “Occulu Reparo,” Harry’s glasses quickly fixed themselves. he took them of and examined them, his mouth hanging open slightly.

“Jimmney Cricket. You’re Harry Potter. I’m Hermione Granger. And tu are?” she looked at Ron.

“Ron Weasely,” he said, mouth full of candy.

“Pleasure,” she frowned and stood up. “Well, tu better change into your robes. I expect we’ll be arriving soon. Come on, Lucy,” she walked to the door, then turned and looked at Ron. “You’ve got some dirt on your nose por the way. Right there,” she pointed to her nose. Ron began to rub his nose, furiously. Lucy stood up.

“Sorry, she can be a little...showy sometimes,” she waved. “See tu later.”

Lucy had changed and was walking back to teh compartment Hermione was in. Two large boys round the corner and started walking towards her.

“Crap,” she muttered and slipped into a compartment. She watched the boys pass.

“Oi,” someone dicho from behind her. She whipped around to see two boys with ginger hair and identical smiles.

“Sorry,” Lucy said.

“It’s okay,” one of them said.

“I’m Fred,” dicho the other.

“I’m George,” the first one said.

“I’m Lucy.”

“Who were tu hiding from?” George asked.

“The two boys that just went past,” she said.

“What’d tu do?” fred asked.

Lucy smiled. “I told them off. Plus, I left them a little present that should go off...now,” an explosion sounded from a few compartments down. Three boys walked quickly past, covered in bright paint.

“Oops,” Lucy smiled.

fred and George looked at each other, then smiled again. “A fellow prankster,” they dicho in sync.

“Lucy,” fred said. “I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”

The train stopped and Lucy got off. She waved goodbye to fred and George who walked towards carriages that seemed to pull themselves. She walked towards a giant man with a lantern, yelling for first years.

“Hey Harry, Ron,” she said, stopping siguiente to them. They nodded to her. Hermione walked up siguiente to Lucy. They all followed the large man, who’s name was apparently Hagris, to a dock full of boats.

They stopped at the parte superior, arriba of a flight of stairs where a woman in a capa and a tall pointy green hat waited for them. She looked down at them through small oro glasses atop a pointed face.

“Hello, I am Professor McGonagall. Now, tu are about to go in to the Great Hall to be sorted. tu will be sorted into one of four houses. Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, o Slytherin. While tu are here, your house will be like your family. Do something well, and tu will gain points. Break any rules and tu will loose points. Now, wait here and I will be back momentarily,” she turned and walked through two large double doors. Lucy smiled at Hermione, eyes shining with excitement.

“Well, well,” a boy said, walking to the front of the group. He stopped in front of Harry. “It’s true then. The great Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts,” everyone started whispering. Lucy raised an eyebrow. What was go great about Harry Potter? She looked at the boy, recognizing him from the train. He was one of the boys she had told off.

“I’m Draco Malfoy,” the boy said. “These are my friends, Crabbe and Goyle,” Lucy put her hand over her mouth, holding in a laugh. Ron, however was not so lucky. He chuckled aloud.

“Think my name’s funny do you? No need to ask for yours. Red hair and a hand-me-down cloak. tu must be a Weasley,” Malfoy turned back to Harry. “I think you’ll find that some families are better than others. tu don’t want to hang out with the wrong sort. I can help tu there,” he held out his hand.

“I think I can tell the wrong sort for myself, thanks,” Harry said.

Lucy couldn’t help it. “Well, you’re just a little prick aren’t you, Malfoy,” she said. Malfoy looked at her.

“Do I know you?” he asked.

“Yeah, we met on the train. por the way, tu still have a bit of paint behind your ear,” she smiled. Malfoy stared at her, eyes widening as he realized she had set off the paint bomb. McGonagall came back and tapped Malfoy on the shoulder. He walked back to Crabbe and Goyle.

“Follow me,” McGonagall said. Everyone filed into the Great Hall behind her. They stopped at the front of the room. An old hat sat on parte superior, arriba of a stool. Lucy raised an eyebrow. Then the hat began to sing. Lucy’s mouth dropped open. When the hat finished, McGonagall pulled out a lista and began to call names. Eventually, she got to Hermione.

“Granger, Hermione.”

Hermione walked up to the taburete and sat down. McGonagall placed the hat on her head. After a minute, the hat shouted, “Gryffindor!” Hermione smiled and pulled off the hat. She walked to the table. más time passed and eventually,

“Newbridge, Lucius.”

“That’s an unfortunate name for a guy,” Ron whispered to Harry. Harry bit his lip and pointed to the stool. Ron looked and his mouth dropped open.

Lucy sat on the taburete and the hat was placed on her head. Immediately, a little voice started talking.

Well, well. What do we have here? A Muggle born. Hmm...you have a fiery spirit. I know where to put you.

“Gryffindor!” it shouted. She smiled and set the hat on the stool. She sat across from Hermione. Two people plopped down siguiente to her.

“Congrats,” George said.

“You just joined the cool house,” fred smiled.

“Thanks,” she said.

“Nice name, por the way,” fred said. She gave him the death glare.

He put his hands up in surrender. “Hey. Joking.”

Lucy smiled slightly. “Yeah, I hate my name.”

Harry and Ron eventually joined them, sitting on either side of Hermione.

“So...where’s the food?” Lucy asked.

“Should be here, right about...now,” George said. As soon as he dicho now, the plates filled with food. Lucy gasped.

“Awesome,” she said.

“We know,” the twins dicho together. Everyone began to eat, chatting and laughing. Suddenly, Ron screamed. A man’s head sat in the middle of a plato of chicken.

“Hello, Sir Nicolas,” a red, curly haired boy said.

“Hello, Percy. Good to see tu again,” the man floated up through the mesa, tabla and began to fly away.

“I know you,” Ron said. “You’re Nearly Headless Nick.”

“Nearly headless? How can tu be nearly headless?” hermione asked.

“Like this,” Nick said. Many people cried out in disgust, so, Lucy looked up. She saw Nick’s head laying on his shoulder, hanging on por a thin flap of skin.

“Oh,” she said, dropping her fork and cuchillo in surprise. Nick pushed his head back and floated away. cena ended and the comida disappeared. fred and George stood up and waved goodbye.

“First years,” Percy called. “Please follow me to the common room,” he walked out of the Great all and they followed him.

“This is the stairway,” he explained. “Be careful, they like to change.”

“Change?” Lucy wondered aloud. One staircase disconnected from the landing and started turning. Lucy’s eyes widened and shown with amusement.

Percy led them up many stairways before stopping in front of a picture of a fat lady.

“Password?’ she asked.

“Caput Draconis,” Percy said. The fat lady nodded and swung open. They filed in and looked around in amazement.

“Boys, your dorm in upstairs on the left. Girls the same on your right,” Percy said. “Just ask me if tu have any questions,” he walked up the stairs. Lucy turned to Harry, Hermione, and Ron.

“This is so cool!” she exclaimed. Hermione chuckled. “Let’s go look at the dorm,” Lucy said, grabbing Hermione’s hand and dragging her up the stairs. Lucy opened the door and gasped. She walked over to a cama with her el maletero, tronco on it. A black owl with shining feathers sat on it with a letter in it’s mouth. She took the letter and stroked the owl.

Dear Lucy,

We hope tu are having a wonderful time at your new school. We miss tu so much. We hope tu like your new pet. Give him a nice name.

Lucy smiled. She held the letter close to her heart. The owl hooted and flew up to her shoulder. It’s wings tickled her nose. She giggled. “I think I’ll going to name tu Kahlua.”

Kahlua hooted, as if to agree. He took off and flew out of the window towards the Owlery. Lucy got ready for cama and lay down. She closed her eyes and fell asleep smiling.
