Can tu please explain how Harry is a half-blood?

Harry is half blood because his father (James) was pureblood, having a father and mother that both magical and come from magical parents. His grandparents are also the same.

His mother (Lily) comes from a Muggle family and she is magical. This is because generations earlier a Squib (born to a magical family but not magical at all) married a Muggle and several generations after Lily was born with magic.

This is how Harry is half blood he has a pureblood father and muggleborn mother.

Harry Potter is a HALF-BLOOD! This is because the basis of being pure-blooded of whatever is in your family! If your parents are both of wizarding ancestry, like Malfoy's, tu are pure blooded. But if one of your parents is a muggle-born and one is of wizarding origin, tu are a half-blood. If both your parents are muggles, tu are a muggle-born wizard.

If the basis of being a pure blood is the ability to do magic, then why is Hermione a mudblood? Is is when she eventually gets married, Rose and Hugo are pure bloods? NO!

So, that is it. It is based on tu ancestry, not on your ability to do magic!!!! :)

Harry is half-blood because his father was pureblood and his mother a muggle-born. tu might be thinking: "He has two magical parents! Isn't he pureblood?" Well, according to the Harry Potter Wiki, a pureblood is a witch o wizard with all-magical grandparents, at the very least. Harry is not pureblood because his maternal grandparents would be muggles (Lily's parents).

I see. I think that Jk's thinking is just a little flawed here, because if your grandparents were pure but your dad married a muggle, wouldn't that make tu a quarter-blood? o wouldn't that make más sense?

Anyway, Harry isn't the half-blood prince... Snape is. He made up the nick name for himself because he was proud of being half blood.

Since Lily Potter was Muggle-born and James Potter was (presumably? [I can't remember nor be stuffed checking right now]) a Pureblood, there is no way for Harry to be a Pureblood. Half-blood is the only way to describe him, since no other name was dado por J.K Rowling.

I am of the belief that Ms. Rowling didn't intend to confuse anyway por Harry's heritage, and the libros plainly explain why Harry was Half-blood.

It doesn't seem to matter that Lily was a witch, because Muggle-borns are placed as lowly as Muggles in the Harry Potter universe.

I think 'pure-bloods' only believe people to be a pure-blood if both their parents are pure-blood, because Lily was a muggle born then they'd believe Harry to be a haf-blood. This would be the reason that Pure-bloods are dying out. Similar to ancient Greece, where to be a citizen both of your parents had to be citizens too.

Harry's mother Lily, had muggle parents. (remember, Harry's horrid muggle Aunt petunia is Lily's sister. :) And from what I can recall, Harry's father James is pureblood.

Actually Pure-Bloods is a generation of full witches and wizards, no muggles involved. Since Harry's mom was a muggleborn her parents were muggles. Since James who was a pure blood marries a muggle born he broke the pure bloodline since he married Lily who had muggle parents.
