Chuck and Blair had stepped out of the limo onto the sidewalk at the restaurant, the children were with Lily camioneta, van Der Woodsen, Chuck’s stepmother who he felt the need to protect since his father died, she had been hurt por men in the past, and since the whole fiasco with Jack at the opera, he just felt the need.
In the restaurant they were seated at a corner alcove so no one could disturb them o see what they were doing whilst eating their food, their alcove faced a wall, with an entrance that could easily be shut off, Chuck and Blair sat at the middle of the mesa, tabla within the alcove, so no one could see them, they didn’t want to draw any attention to themselves, they had ordered their wine and the waiter was pouring it into their glasses when all of a sudden a shot was fired, everyone in the restaurant had ducked, Chuck looked over the back of the alcove that he and Blair were in and could see that a masked man was threatening one of the waiters, telling him to give him the money from the cash register, Chuck pulled out his phone and dialled 911, he spoke quietly into the receiver and dicho
‘’There’s a masked gunmen in Nobu restaurant, 40 57th street, hurry’’ Chuck dicho eagerly and anxiously into the phone
He could see that Blair was scared so he pulled her into his embrace, he held her hand, he could see her engagement ring and eternity ring shining in the darkness of the alcove so he whispered
‘’Take your rings off, hurry, it’s shining’’
Blair immediately did this and shoved them into her clutch bag, her hand felt bare but she wanted to stay seguro for as long as she could, they could both hear sirens approaching in the distance and thanked God they had got hear so quick, a voice made them jump, it was the gunmen telling them to mover out from where they were to sit on the floor with the rest of the customers in the restaurant, the gunmen had told them to all stay quiet and not to touch one another o he would shoot, he could see out of the corner of his eye that Blair was shaking, the gunmen had his back turned to him so he whispered
‘’It’s going to be okay, we’re going to be fine, trust me, we are going to make it out of here seguro and well’’
The gunmen must have had a good sense of hearing because he heard Chuck say this and fired, once in the air and once right into Chuck’s stomach.
Blair screamed, the gunmen was about to shoot her too as the police officers burst in to the restaurant and arrested him, Blair crawled over to Chuck, tears streaming down her face, she put his hand in hers and could feel a light pulse…
‘’Oh thank god’’ she thought to herself
She barely heard someone to call an ambulance, and was shocked when the paramedics arrived to take Chuck to hospital.
Blair was standing in the corner of the waiting room of the hospital holding Chuck’s jacket, the chaqueta he had been wearing when that terrible event happened, she just wanted to forget all about it when she heard the door open, standing there was her mother in law Lily, the person she needed to see right now, Lily opened her arms and Blair was grateful for the warmth and the comfort that surrounded her, she felt safe, she felt the tears well up in her eyes and closed them tightly shut, Lily could see that Blair was going to cry any moment so she sat her down on one of the chairs and pulled out a tissue from her bag and handed it to Blair, Blair wiped her eyes until she had no make up left on her delicate face, as Chuck would have said, Lily was to busy worrying about Blair and Blair was so busy wiping at her eyes and her face that neither noticed the doctor come in…
As soon as they did however they both turned around with eager and hopeful looks on their faces…
The doctor nodded and Blair sighed with relief.
‘’As tu know Chuck was taken to surgery as soon as he was brought here, the bullet was removed, it was inches away from his abdomen, he was lucky, he is in intensive care, if tu like tu can go and sit with him’’
Blair and Lily made their way down the hall to ICU and into a private room, of course Chuck did have private healthcare, Blair sat down and took Chuck’s hand in her own and held it against her face, she was so happy that he was going to be okay.
Blair suddenly realised that Lily was the person who was looking after hers and Chuck’s children and looked frantically around, Lily noticed this and calmly said…
‘’They are at inicial with Rufus, Serena knows and she is on her way down here now’’
Lily knew Blair better than her own mother knew her, which wasn’t a shock, her mother had always been más interested in her own career, and her Cyrus and his family than her, the día Blair found out she was pregnant she told herself she was going to be a better mother to her children than her mother was to her.
Two hours later Blair awoke to find Chuck still unconscious and Serena sat in a chair in the corner of the room asleep and Lily asleep in the chair across from her, she walked over to Serena and whispered…
‘’Hey S thanks for coming’’
Serena opened her eyes, stood up and enveloped Blair in a tight hug, Blair could feel herself starting to cry again and she backed out of Serena’s embrace and went to take a sip of water from the cup in the corner where she had been sitting.
