Hi everyone,
I’m escritura this articulo because I believe the new muro system has real potential of improving the way people use the props. I realize that not all fanpoppers will follow my advize, but I still feel the urge to write this.
I’ve been on fanpop for quite some time now, and I’ve received and dado quite a few props. However, only a small amound of the apoyar I received were ‘real props’. To clarify: por ‘real props’ I mean apoyar received for actual content I’ve submitted. All the other apoyar were ‘thanks for being a fan – props’ o ‘happy whatever día tu came up with now – props’.
I feel the new muro function on our perfil will be helpful in resolving this prop-crisis. Before the walls exsisted, when somebody became a fan of you, the only thing tu could to to thank them was to fan them back. Nevertheless, a lot of people apparently feel the need to do más then that. So far the only two options were to send somebody a personal message o to give them a apoyo (for something else) and specify in the apoyo comment. Hardly anyone sends a personal message to thank someone for being a fan, so the apoyar are massively used for this.
Now what exacly is the problem with this? Allow me to explain. Whenever I receive an correo electrónico from fanpop telling me I have a new apoyo waiting for me, I get excited. ‘Yay, somebody liked something I contributed so much they feel I deserve rewarding for it!’ Sadly, very often when I click to see what it is I got the apoyo for, it’s one of the ‘unreal props’. I hate getting dissapointed like that. Getting a ‘real prop’ is such a great thing! It says so much más then a medal. It means somebody saw something tu contributed, and thinks it’s awesome/funny/good enough to track down the fan that added it and reward cette fan with a real prop. I’m happier with one honest apoyo then with 20 ‘fans’ of an image I contributed.
So now the solution (sorry I rambled on so long). The muro function can now be used to thank people for being their fan o to wish them a happy whatever day! That way, when I receive an correo electrónico announcing a new prop, chances are, it’s actually a real prop! Also, when visiting someone’s profile, the apoyo count might just really say something about the quality of content that fan has submitted…
Wow, even I am surprised about the length of this article… Who new I could write so much about something as silly as props. Please don’t take me to seriously, I know I don’t ;)
