So last night, August the 2nd/3rd, depending on where tu were, I witnessed a phenomenon I have not seen on the internet for quite some time, I've seen glimmers of it, hints and comments, but I've not had it so blatantly thrust in my face until last night. I am, of course, talking about unity. No, not unity against a 'common enemy' o a 'troll' as many people on the internet assume is unity, but genuine "I can just click something to make someone feel a little better" kind of unity.
tu see true believer, I have a faith in one thing, 'The small things count'. Whether it's just a passing 'hello', an easy to say 'I amor you' o just clicking 'Give Props' here on Fanpop, it's a simple thing that can fill someone with a little bit of happiness. Last night I made a fair few picks in link, mostly I was bored, but I also, as always, wanted to see the results, and I wasn't surprised that a large amount of fans do add things, they do rate things, but most of all, they seem to like the community.
My best friend, as tu will know him, is link, I've known him for years, I can honestly say I think the only people who are closer even por the tiniest bit is Turk and JD from link, some would say that's worrying, I call it friendship, and while I've not and don't think I could ever make friends as good as J, there's certainly a lot of people here who remind me of him when I first spoke to him properly, kind, generous and above all, friendly.
The other día we noticed link had finally returned after a lengthy absence, and we both laughed as if he'd finally returned from inside the Bermuda Triangle, we like him, we like the members, and it's important to both us and the community that he and everyone else sticks around.
So please remember, it doesn't take much just to say hi, it doesn't take much just to give props, it doesn't take much to rate someone's content (which will in turn get them that medal they have been after for so long), it doesn't take much to comment, to start a discussion, to get to know people, to add someone back, to just do the simple things people often forget to do, even saying thankyou o sorry when an argument arises.
fanpop is a community, and a bloody good one at that, here's to another year, and many más after that :)
PS: Thankyou link, link, link and link in no particular order for making fanpop in the first place, as much as this place is about community, it wouldn't exist if tu hadn't been inspired to do it and worked as hard at it as tu do.

Big news! I, personally have sent an application for a new articulo for fanpop on Wikipedia! Hopefully, within the month, fanpop will have a Wikipedia articulo for tu all to check out and add onto! Additionally, this may help make fanpop más well known.
Boy, I can almost TASTE it- a big, beefy record of history about Fanpop's past, present, and future!
