They shopped for hours. Going for from store to store in each one Minnie sat outside the dress-room, wishing she were anywhere else. And every time margarita came out of the fitting-room to show-off the siguiente articulo of clothing no matter what was dicho about it margarita managed to find something wrong this it. Finally Minnie said, “I think we’ve been to all the stores. Have tu chosen an outfit yet?”
margarita said, “Actually there’s one más I’d like to hit.”
“Which one?” asked Minnie.
“McFashions.” replied Daisy
Unbeknownst to Minnie and Daisy, Scrooge and Webby were at the mall shopping for the pageant. As soon as they entered the mall Webby saw a beautiful dress the window of a store. It was rosado, rosa and sparkly with rosas on it. She exclaimed, “Oooh I want that one!”
Scrooge walked over and looked at the dress in the window. Then he said, “Dear we’ve been over this several times, we’re going to look at McFashions first. And if tu don’t find anything that tu like there then, maybe, we can check some other stores. But remember as the owner of McFashions everything there is basically free to me, and there’s no need to buy what tu can get for free.”
Webby looked at the dress again, then hung her head and grumbled, “Okay.”
Meanwhile in the McFashions’ dressing room Laura and Vicky were also shopping for the pageant. Vicky shouted angrily “Why the heck do we always have to comprar at this stupid store?! I mean come on, they even have skirts in the boys section!”
Laura replied coldly, “Vicky we go over this every time we comprar for pageant dresses. For millionth time, the reason we comprar here is because as the assistant manger of McFashions I get a 20 percent discount. That’s the only way I can afford to buy those ridiculously priced dresses. I’m not going to be one those idiots that spends their whole paycheck on them and then lives in a trailer!”
Vicky responded with a bored, “Whatever.”
While Minnie was sitting outside the fitting room, waiting for margarita to come mostrar her yet another outfit, she decided to call Mickey. She thought that he might need to be reminded about their fecha tonight, since he had become a little obsessed with his videogames recently. “Hi Mickey! Are we still on for tonight?” she asked.
“Um, yeah we’re still on,” he dicho sounding very distant.
“Oh good!” she said.
There was no answer for several seconds, then Mickey yelled, “Dang-it I just died!”
“What?!” Minnie dicho shocked and confused
He replied, “I gotta go, gotta save the universe.”
“Well excuse me, I’ll let tu get back to your game!” she dicho angrily.
After getting off the phone Minnie sat there for a while feeling sad. She dicho to herself, “Well that figures, Mickey’s been so obsessed with these games lately.”
Then she decided that she couldn’t stand sitting there any longer. She was tired helping margarita decide what to buy to no avail, and she had to get her mind off of the conversation she had just had with Mickey. If Minnie could have left the mall she would have, but she and margarita had come together in Daisy‘s car. So she got up and started to look around the store.
After finding a few dresses she liked Webby went into the fitting-room. Meanwhile Scrooge sat outside trying figure out the lista of items that were needed for the pageant. After she tried on the first dress Webby stood in front the full-length mirror admiring herself. She dicho to herself, “I think I look pretty in this. I wonder what Victoria would think if she saw me?”
All of a sudden she heard a familiar, “Hey Weirdby.”
She turned around and saw Victoria stand there. “V-v-victoria what are tu doing here?” she stammered
“Shopping for the pageant, like duh. And you’re here because…?” Victoria dicho arrogantly
“Um… I’m shopping the pageant too.” Webby dicho nervously. “I took your consejos and got my uncle to me sign up and…I gotta go!”
Victoria called after her, “Well, good luck.” Then she muttered, “You’ll need it.”
Webby ran out of fitting room. Once outside of she saw Scrooge sitting in the chair lectura the list. She ran over and jumped in his lap. He was concentrating so hard that he didn’t notice her coming. And the big puffy falda of the formal dress she was wearing hit him in face, knocking his glasses to floor.
Back in the dressing room, Laura had over heard the conversation between Webby and Vicky. She shouted, “Vicky, where are tu and who the heck were tu talk to?!”
Vicky yelled back, “I’m over here por the mirrors Laura, and was just talking to…”
She was interrupted por a sharp, “What did we talk about last night?!”
“Sorry mother.” She dicho haughtily, “To answer your pregunta I was talking to Webby. She a really weird girl I met at school this week. Says she’s in the pageant too.”
“Webby, as in Webbigail Vanderquack?” Laura asked curiously.
“How the heck should I know? All I know is she’s weird, and think she lives with her uncle.” Victoria answered
Laura snickered and dicho arrogantly, “That sounds like her. Come dear let’s go welcome the newcomers.”
Outside a blind Scrooge and a tense Webby were crawling around on the floor, trying to find the missing glasses. The whole time they were down on the floor Webby was trying to tell him about the experience she had just in the fitting room. “Victoria was back there, she called me Weirdby again, and then…”
Scrooge trying to reassure her interrupted, “Don’t worry dear. I’ll have a word with that wee devil, as soon as we find my spectacles.”
Webby found the glasses and handed them to him. Then she looked up and saw Laura and Victoria standing over them. She stammered “W-w-well, tu better think of what tu want say quick. ‘Cause she’s here, and I think her mommy’s here too.”
Now able to see again Scrooge looked up, and saw the two them standing there looking down on him and Webby. Feeling a little embarrassed that he should been like this he quickly jumped up and brushed himself off. Vicky started to laugh at him. Laura glared and elbowed her, then she dicho sweetly, “Mr. McDuck, please forgive and forget my little Vicky’s behavior.”
Scrooge replied sharply, “Well I suppose I can forgive her this once, as long as she doesn’t send me darling lass inicial crying again.”
He stared at Laura for a few moments trying to place her face. Then thought he remembered seeing a foto of her on the Lil’ Miss Duckburg website. So he asked, “Ye wouldn’t happen to be Laura Quackson, director of Lil’ Miss Duckburg?”
“Why yes I am.” she dicho still trying to sound sweet, “And I would like to invited the two of tu to attend The Annual Mother Daughter Pre-Pageant Luncheon. It takes place in the mall food-court at noon tomorrow.”
Feeling a bit confused Scrooge said, “So… por mother daughter I’m assuming ye mean the contestant and her guardian. Otherwise ye would not be inviting Webbigail and me.”
Laura giggled and said, “Oops! I didn’t think about that I guess I’ll have to change the name of it. Anyway it takes place in the food-court tomorrow at noon, the seats are arranged according to the mo… I mean, adults last name so you’ll be at mesa, tabla M2. It’s highly recommended that newbies come, and bring your coach so she can take notes. Can we count on tu attend?”
Feeling even más confused he answered with a simple, “Aye, we’ll be there.”
‘Wonderful.” Laura said, “Now we must be going, goodbye.”
As they left Victoria called “Bye Weirdby.”
“VICKY!” Laura growled,
“I mean Webby.” Victoria corrected herself,
As soon as they were gone Scrooge collapsed in the chair and buried his face in his hands. Webby, thinking that he probably shouldn’t be disturbed, sat down siguiente to the chair. They sat there for a several minutos without saying anything. Finally the silence grew to awkward for Webby so she tapped him on the shoulder asked, “Uncle Scrooge, are tu okay?”
It took several taps to get him to respond. But finally he looked over at her with very tired eyes and said, “I’m fine dear. But are tu sure that ye want to do this pageant? I’ve read through the lista and none of it makes sense. Also apparently we need to find a coach for you, and I don’t know where to begin looking for one.”
“Yes, I wanna do it.” Webby dicho firmly
Scrooge sighed, “Alright, let’s go look at some más dresses.”
While Minnie was looking through the department store, she was trying hard to keep her mind off of how angry she felt toward Mickey and Daisy. Yet, somehow it seemed like everything she saw reminded her of them. She found herself in the girls’ formal section admiring a dress and thinking, “Oh my, these dresses are so beautiful close-up. Daisy’s right it would be fun to enter a girl little in a pageant.” She dicho to herself
Minnie once again feeling sad, after thinking about Daisy, couldn’t stand to look at the dress any longer. So she turned around and started to leave. But as soon as she started to walk out of the girl’s formal section she heard two familiar voices coming from behind a clothing rack.
“What do tu think of this dress?”
“I think it’s lovely, dear.”
She stood there and trying to place those voices. Then she realized they sounded like Uncle Scrooge and Webby. Minnie wondered, “Why would those two be shopping for formal dresses?”
Minnie curiously looked behind the clothing rack saw them with their back to her examining dresses. “ Hello Uncle Scrooge, hi Webby! What are tu doing here?” she called
A bit startled Scrooge jumped, then turned around and saw Minnie. “Why, hello Minnie. Well, at the moment I’m not really sure what I’m doing tu see…”
Webby, who was eager to brag about being in a pageant, interrupted “We’re shopping for Lil’ Miss Duckburg!”
“Really?!” Minnie exclaimed, “I just amor pageants. margarita and I watch them all the time! I was just thinking how much fun it would be enter a little girl in one!”
Scrooge, unable to believe his ears, could barely speak, “You do?! tu were?! Um… Well we could really use the help of someone who is knowledgeable about these pageants!” After calming down from his sudden burst of excitement he asked, “Minnie, would tu like to be Webby’s coach?”
“Oh My, I’d amor to!” Minnie exclaimed
Webby hugged Minnie, and yelled, “ Yay! Thank you, Miss Minnie!
