Unpopular opinion, but Mushu has the tendency to irritate me. While he can be funny, he's selfish, talks way too much, and he's lacking in the cute department.

If you remove him from the movie, the only result would be funny patterend underwear less to see. I have nothing against him, but I don't think that he adds anything to the plot.
