Not really. I think she's a mary sue, to me mary sue's aren't that well developed. Some are developed somewhat depending on their personality. To me she doesn't grow as a character or gain anything. Sure she learned to love a beast but she already didn't judge by people's looks since she knows Gaston who for some reason is considered handsome is a rude and arrogant jerk. She didn't really learn or gain any real developement as a character in her story. I think she's more well developed in her sequels than she is in the original because she actually grows and learns lessons. So in the original she's sorta developed but not that much really.

she's just kinda regular to me.... i wish they would've made her more independent i suppose.... and outspoken. She's just kind of... there.... thats just my opinion.

She's very well-developed, yes, but really? I think there was room for a little more. :)

I think she did grow as a character other than just learning to love a Beast. She learned to believe that a mean beast could overcome his mean tempered ways and learn to love. She never would have thought he would on how he was acting toward her at the beginning. Like in the Something There song. I know the song is stating that they're falling for one another. But it also tells that Belle is noticing Beast's kinder gentle side. Something that she never noticed or believed that was there before in him.
