I personally think there should be only one mermaid in the Princess lineup.

From what I read on wikipedia, it says that in most versions, they are undead ghostly maidens connected with water (they also have a comb that grants them water when they need it). And that they lure men to their deaths with their singing, or children with baskets of fruit. The site also says they are the spirits of women who committed suicide or weren't baptized as babies and were drowned, whatever happened that made them die before their time.

Dunno any information about the other versions of this creature.

And by the way, what do you mean by writing 'another mermaid', dee389? You wrote this like you want to say Rusałki (that`s the plural form of 'Rusałka' in Polish) are just ones of the boring mermaids, and they`re not.
