^ Yes. While Disney's "French" quality in B and the B was only just a "fringe" quality, this B and the B had the truly "French" overtones, mirrored by the setting as well. It was French in every sense of the word!!!!

Well, of course, the french would pay homage to their own stories. :P

I also liked how the Beast as a human wasn't a handsome man either. it makes the message of BatB stand out much more.
