What I mean is what makes Frozen hard to like at times is those fans of the movie who go around shitting on all other Disney movies/characters just because they aren't Elsa/Anna/Frozen. "Oh Elsa is so much better than Ariel because she doesn't need a man!" "Frozen is the best Disney movie out there because it makes fun of all the other stupid Disney movies!" "It's the first Disney movie that features familial love/teaches girls to not fall in love at first sight/has strong female characters that don't need a man!/etc etc"-

The last statement is soo wrong because so many Disney movies have done the things that Frozen is supposedly "the first". Familial love? Dumbo, The Lion King, Brave, Finding Nemo... Strong female characters who don't need men to save them? Pffft, Mulan, Esmeralda... No love at first sight/mocks love at first sight-the first man you love? Princess and the Frog, Pocahontas, Tangled, Enchanted... The pair doesn't get married at the end? Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, Hercules...Heroine is a misunderstood outcast? Aladdin, Quasimodo, Cinderella, Beast, Belle, Simba, Hercules...Main Heroine ends up single? Alice, Merida, Jim Hawkins, Kuzco...

Frozen is really not the first in anything regarding Disney films.

It adds to it, but it is a mediocre movie.

Some fans annoy the heck out of me, but there are other bad aspects of Frozen.

It's not the sole reason, or even the main reason, but it sure is annoying. Especially the "Anna and Elsa were Disney's first close sister relationship!!!11" irks me, because Lilo and Nani did that ten years earlier and a hell of a lot better.

Eh. Rather the rabid fanbase "adds to" the Frozen phenomenon. The movie itself is bad, but the fans touting its praise only aggravate the situation.

What makes Frozen bad is its lazy storytelling (all fixer upper is good for is to shove Kristoff / Anna in our faces without any growth or depth between then and to soften the blow of finding out Hans is a douche later on), sloppy structure, cliched overmodern dialogue, and general insincerity. Like nothing about Frozen seems genuine to me, except for maybe Kristoff's asocial tendencies. Frozen's fans are the least of its problems imo

On tumblr, I can't say one bad word about Elsa to not be attacked and insulted by her fans. That's in some part is also the reason why it's so hard for me to like her. And Disney is not helping, since I love Anna, and they keep ignoring her for Elsa.

And when these fans re-interpret Frozen is the worst. Esp. in Disney crossovers, they turn Elsa into this snotty "Hah i'm so much better than all of you stupid princesses because i don't need a man" who's incredibly cruel and patronizing to the other princesses.

I dunno, makes me think the people who do these videos/art/stories etc are single and very bitter and insecure about it so the inject all of their "fuck those skinny/pretty bitches with boyfriends" mentality into Elsa to feel better about themselves.

And it's so hypocritical and hilarious considering Anna falls in love with Kristoff just two days after meeting him...And yet these people who criticize the other princesses NEVER comment on that...SMH.
