I think Angus counts as Merida's friend. =)

This one's a tough call because they're all great in one way or another.

I guess I have to vote Meeko and Flit because they don't really do much to help in the film. Apart from Flit scaring John away when he's about to spot Pocahontas in the bushes (although that wouldn't have been a problem had Meeko not given her away) and Meeko given her a compass at the end, they don't do much. They follow her around, cause mischief, Meeko goes off to do his own thing, and Flit tries to enforce his "no white man" policy.

Did they even do anything?

No picking on Angus, he's a non-magical horse and even tries to warn Merida about stepping into the stone circles. Also the fairies are basically responsible for the entirety of Sleeping Beauty. I vote for Meeko and Flit because they're just comic relief characters and you can easily take them out of the movie without affecting the plot or characterization.

Meeko got on my nerves. -_-
