I have been wanting to write this articulo since beginning but it took a lot más time to find that right kind of dresses for each princess. I amor weddings, the festivity of it, the promises in it, the preparations for it. I'm kind of disappointed that disney hasn't made it a ritual kind of a thing in its movies. Though I understand, different plots need different settings, but I'd still amor to see más of disney weddings especially in a romantic plot. I so wish especially Aurora's and Snow's wedding, with them finding their prince in the classic fairytale set-up.
Initially I had wanted to diseño the whole wedding theme for each princess but that is taking way too long, so I have picked out only princess wedding gowns for this article, as of now. The wedding theme is also under working, though. (I'm so excited to work on this).

Part 1 of the articulo is for those princesses who didn't get a formal wedding in their Happy Ever After. Part 2 will be for re-imagining the wedding gowns for those princesses who did get their wedding in original o sequels.

The selection of wedding gowns here is just what I think will suit each princess style based on their body features and their personalities. I haven't taken much into consideration the era for all of them as it was limiting the choices way too much, so I have taken a bit of leeway there.

1. Snow White:
Although she's the first disney princess and most classic of all, but she has a vibrant and energetic side to her personality. She's not as regally composed kind of a person but is rather chirpy and fun-loving but at the same time gentle and sweet and loving. Her signature outfit also reveals her spunk with bright colores in yellow and blue with a red cape and high neck style. She's also sporting peep-toes, which again speaks about her style being más chic than classic.
I think she can don a chic look with a cape o tocados, casco, arnés para la cabeza in red, with gloves in red to go with her rosy cheeks and blood red lips. And her's would be pure winter white dress to match her snow white skin.
o altogether a red wedding gown, it could get too modern for her tastes but she's the only princess who can don a full glory red gown. It may just flatter her looks.

2. Aurora:
Ah, the couple for whom I'd so wanted to see the wedding. She's the mos elegant, most graceful and poised princess of all. Her taste is royal and class and sophistication all the way. Her body structure being tall and composed and slim, I think she would look gorgeous in satin o chiffon skirts with no embellishments but have a the most simplest of elegance. But it should have a soft look to it for her gentle nature and a fall of the falda should not be overly flaired with straighter lines, somewhat pleated maybe.
She should have softest of sleeves, almost like a sheer fabric. I wouldn't want to give her a veil, i want to see her gorgeous hair tumble in soft curls, o if she wants it, then thinnest of veils, just a hint at it.

3. Belle:
My favorito! princess! I think she has a bit of frivolous side to her when it comes to dressing. Although most of her dresses are plain and simple but they varies in color a lot - blue, green, pink. Think she likes experimenting. Also, her signature golden vestido is totally different from her regular day-to-day clothes. I think she'd choose something extravagant for special occasions, so does her hairstyle shows. But I don't quite like the specific style of her signature outfit skirt. I like the upper corpiño, blusa with off-shoulder diseño in lace. So, I have shown few wedding dresses inspired from her signature style.

But if I were to give her a dress, I'd rather give her softer hues of tulle, and layers and layers of it. I think it would give her the splendour without being overly boisterous. She can do with ivory color o ombre dress too. I wouldn't want to give her blush pink. Veil o no veil, she can do with both. But being a romantic imagination, she'd like a long veil, a simple one though.

4. Pocahontas:
Hmm, she's rather easy if going por her native American style. They had limited clothing options with deer skin as main resource of clothes. So for her, I have dado what would be originally fit to her culture. To take a leap into imagination, i think something in oro sequins would have brought out her organic beauty and complimented her skin color o a simple straight cut cordón, encaje diseño would have showed off her gorgeous oro skin with black hair.

5. Merida:
Okay, lets think Merida getting married. Hmm...this one's realllly tough. First of all, all hell will break loose on mentioning marriage to her and second, even if she were to agree, she'd just wouldn't want to fit into a dress that limits her in any way (Don't we all remember the archery contest dress). She'd have wanted something carefree, something open that gives her plenty of movement but yet very earthy and plain. She wouldn't want to fuss over it at all. Lastly, she wouldn't be traditional much. So I have dado her a wedding dress with a free flowing structure, something from medieval era, but with no Scottish sash to break tradition. And no veil for her either, wouldn't want to hide her gorgeous hair.

Here's another side, to match her clear blue eyes and fiery red hair, I'd actually want her to wear another green/bluish dress, I think it would compliment her better than the white and it's not a traditional dress, so she might just like it a bit more.

6. Anna:
I want to imagine her in a wedding dress so much. She's like a little pop of a star, shining bright and bustling with energy. Keeping in mind her spunky, outdoorsy, upbeat, warm personality and one who has one note extra of cheerfulness in her, I would want to give her a short length falda in a wedding dress. She can combine the gorgeous and cute qualities together with this and it would fit her like a charm. Not too short, but just off the ankle with fuller look to it rather than straight fall. She'd also like some cordón, encaje and pearls to bring about her femininity. She'd definitely like a short veil, something fluffy and in layers.

7. Elsa:
Hmm...another tough one to imagine, not because I can't imagine her getting married but because she has some mix personality. Majorly she was reserved, regal and composed but she does have some vanity in her, looking at the dress she made for herself. So i think she'd like a bit of both, something stately and classy but with a luxurious feel to it. I think cape really sets her apart and looks grand on her. So I would like to give her a full trailing cape, as sheer as possible, jutted with sequins and pearls. I think she'll look great in white with the braided bun.

laylastepford ^ I'm not Christian either and I don't believe religious weddings should be forced on people. My husband and I got married out in nature on the lake in Lake Tahoe, California. It was beautiful, my husband really loved the lake and I love the forest and trees so it was nice that we got to have both. That's so interesting about the symbolism of colors where you are vs where I am! Thank you for sharing that with me! Here, black is the color of widows and anyone who has lost someone. It is standard to usually only wear black to funerals. I'm really glad you did this article and I think your selections were all lovely and gorgeous! I don't think religion or culture got in the way of this article at all. :D I agree with so many of your choices because they are so beautiful! I am very similar to Anna in many ways so it kind of makes sense to me that I would love hers so much. I am very petite and didn't want my dress to drag on the dirt at the lake so I had the train tailored where the ruffled part ended (by professionals) so it looked like the train was never there. It also made it look more like Belle's traditional gown. <3 [I felt like a princess in it, I really did.]

anukriti2409 ^ I love Lake Tahoe, it's one of the most beautiful landscape I've ever seen in my life. It just takes your breath away. Its so awesome that you got married there :) <3 Unfortunately, it's not considered good to do unreligious ceremonies in India so a lot of people include themes in their ceremonies to get that feel and yet be acceptable in society. But we do have lot of small ceremonies prior to wedding where we can celebrate the on-going wedding process in anyway the couple deem fit. It lasts here around 4-5 days, wedding ceremonies. It's really beautiful and engaging with all your friends and families. I designed my own wedding dress from a boutique so I don't have a separate picture of it, except me wearing it. I'm sorry, i don't feel comfortable sharing that, i hope you'll understand. Perhaps, if I click a separate picture of it sometime later, i'll definitely share it with you. Your wedding dress is gorgeous!

laylastepford ^ I love Lake Tahoe too! Very gorgeous and serene. Mostly friendly people too! I completely agree it's breathtaking. I was very fortunate to get married there, it was my first time seeing it as well. In America there are still many places that socially prefer religious weddings too but my husband and I wanted to do something for us, not other people. That was really important to us. Wow! That's amazing that a wedding lasts 5 days where you're from! Is it because of large-sized families or love for the tradition? I completely understand you not wanting to show your personal wedding picture, I meant only to see the dress as I like your style, not invade your privacy. :) That's really amazing that you were able to design your own dress! That must've been a really fun experience! Thank you about my dress. :)

PrincessAyeka12 I heard that Indian Weddings usually have 700 guests, is that true? My favourite Indian Pre-wedding ceremonies are the Mehendi ceremony and another. Which brings me to a question in Bollywood films when it's men vs ladies in a song and dance performance is that the Sangeet Ceremony? When the Groom and Groom's side of the family are making their way to the wedding, perhaps dancing and singing as they go along, is that the Vidal ceremony or something different? laylastepford, I like your wedding dress.

anukriti2409 ^it depends on how many guests one may want to entertain. But minimum is always around 250-300 and can go upto 1000 and more. It entirely depends on how much socially connected you are. It is considered awfully rude manners to not invite people you know in your own family's function. The dance performance is in a sangeet ceremony but usually bride's and groom's family celebrate it separately rather than together, it is one night before wedding. They sometimes engage in men vs ladies one at engagement ceremony representing bride side and group side respectively. It can also happen in a baraat - in which groom comes on a horse to wedding venue. Vidai (means farewell) ceremony is when bride leaves the wedding venue and goes with new family to her new home.

PrincessAyeka12 For Snow White, I prefer the red fascinator (that's we call the caps in England) with the red gloves and white dress. For Merida, the first row of dresses is too elfin. More suited for Arwen an Elf Princess from The Lord of the Rings or any elfin females in fact. The second row suits her allot in my opinion. An untraditional blue wedding dress would be perfect.

anukriti2409 ^I was kind of in 2 boats for Snow, it also like the red gloves with white dress but thought, she may just go entirely for traditional being conventional in lot of ways. I completely agree with your opinion on Merida, a blue dress is actually a traditional wedding dress color in Irish weddings.

PrincessAyeka12 Thank you, I've never been to a real Indian wedding - I don't have any Indian friends in real life. So attending an Indian Wedding is impossible. I only know about them from watching films and reading Indian authored fiction books. So fantasy vs reality can be confusing. Really the Irish traditional colour is blue? I never knew that.

anukriti2409 ^i can understand. Plus Bollywood and fanfiction usually tweaks the actual ceremonies to fit the storyline and add entertaining value to it. By the way, if you like watching Bollywood films, i suggest Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, that;s the closest film on Indian wedding.

PrincessAyeka12 Yeah it was recommended to me from a forum. Have you heard Bollywhat? It's a website for foreigners and desis to express their love and interest for Bollywood. They can get lyric translations, learn a bit of Hindi, talk about India, talk about the DVDs, all things Bollywood, share music videos and screen caps from films. I'm a member on there. Anyway they recommended it because I love Hum Saath Saath Hain. They claimed it was better. So I bought it. I couldn't watch all of it. I ended up fast forwarding through it and just giving up. I shouldn't fast forward really because I don't understand Hindi and although the subtitles are on I got lost with what was going on. I kept thinking OMG it's same cast except all of my favourite characters are missing. Prem, how can you be in love with your sister in law - Sapna! And then realise, wait. That's Madhuri Dixit not Karishma Kapoor! They look so much alike. There's no glamour or vibrant colours. I don't like the songs or dance performances. I miss the elaborate dresses and the characters; Preeti, Sangeeta, Sapna and Vinod. I ended up re-selling it. But I might see if it's on YouTube, now that you've stated that. And this time I won't be comparing it to my beloved Hum Saath Saath Hain - the second Bollywood film I ever watched. Lagaan was the first film I watched. But Hum Saath Saath Hain introduced the glamour, glitz, vibrant colours and elaborate dance performances.

anukriti2409 ^well, these two films are quite close in the concept. But since Hum Aapke Hain Kaun released much earlier, it's the original in concept. Plus, Hum Saath Saath Hain focus on things post marriage and joint family system and Indian family values whereas Hum Aapke Hain Kaun focuses primarily on Indian wedding and its many rituals, and how arrange marriages happen and 2 families come together to celebrate and enjoy the ceremonies attached to it. Even the songs are more dedicated to single-single rituals. Hahaha! I can totally understand for outsider to get confused between Karishma Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit! LOL!

PrincessAyeka12 Just a thought, but what about Monsoon Wedding? Is that in anyway accurate?

anukriti2409 ^ Monsoon Wedding rather focuses on problems of arranging such an elaborate affair and realistic challenges, human weaknesses when it comes to varied relatives, societal expectations and social stature being an evil to bride's parents as to how much they put pressure to put up a grand show for groom's family sake. It focuses much more on subtle relationship balances and what makes and breaks them. It is just just around the time of wedding, and uses it as backdrop plot.

PrincessAyeka12 It may have been a backdrop but I loved it. I was purely thinking about the ceremonies in Monsoon Wedding, not the plot. I hoped you would see that too.

anukriti2409 i saw that, of course but it is secondary in the film. The film is more about relations than ceremonies, like i said.

The A-Z Guide to Arranged Marriage by Rekha Waheed Bollywood Wedding by Rekha Waheed Born Confused by Tanuja Desai Hidier The Marriage Market by Nisha Minhas Koyal Dark, Mango Sweet by Kashrima Seth All contemporary fiction or young adult fiction.

I just meant, if you were referring bollywood/fanfiction as base point, i wanted to clarify that it won;t be as accurate :) @laylastepford: Oh we do have big-big families. My dad has 7 brothers and sisters and so does my mom , so i have around 40 cousins who are mostly married and have their children. It really is fun,a nd can be exasperating at times in terms of expectations to meet all of them :)

AdelitaI Great idea! I love your article! Talking about me, I would like my wedding gown to be white, long, unplain and ornate. I would prefer the lace veil rather tulle one. My jewelry should be more extravagant and intricate than simple pearl necklace. I prefer ornate style over elegant minimalism.
