Most fans can agree (I think) that the dress looks quite bad on Ariel. There are several reasons for this: the sleeves are ridiculously puffy and makes her arms look misshapen and the shaping of the falda looks... Odd. I just think it's too puffy and big in general.
Another popular reason for the dress looking odd is that a red hair/pink dress combo doesn't work:
However, I personally don't feel this is the case. disney has proven that it is perfectly capable of making a rosado, rosa dress look super pretty on a red head (a.k.a. Giselle from Enchanted). Look how cute she looks here!
Some of tu may now say that the outfit only works because her hair is MUCH lighter than Ariel's, but I disagree. Look what happens when we put Ariel in almost exactly the same dress:
I don't know about you, but I think she looks stunning! Why couldn't disney put her in a dress más like this? A different shade of rosado, rosa and different sleeves and Ariel's rosado, rosa dress could have been BEAUTIFUL.
Would something like this be TOO much to ask?
I guess it could be argued that disney HAD to make the dress shaped like that with odd sleeves to make it look like a ball gown, but if they had to give her a light rosado, rosa and puffy dress, couldn't they have dado something a lot más like Lottie's from TPATF? Her dress is over dramatic, but still prettier than Ariel's.
Overall, I feel that disney could have made Ariel's ball vestido look amazing if they had put a little más time and thought into it. They just had to change the shade and the shape and I would have adored it. I am really glad that they have decided to scrap the dress almost altogether now in merchandising, because it makes me a little sad to think how breath-taking Ariel could have looked.

They Should Make It!
Since Don Bluth had done it back in 1997, disney should do it. In this version, they would make her mother Alexandra Fyodorovna along with Rasputin the main antagonists with the latter brainwashing the latter, prompting mother and daughter to be estranged o however the relationship should be. It wasn't until the final scene that Alexandra came to her senses!
They Should Not Make It!
I personally think that should not make it, because if they make Rasputin as the bad guy again. The story will be so familiar with the 1997 version! Unless they change the story and choose a brand new antagonists for the film.

Christine and Erik, we meet again.
Snow white was like cenicienta almost. cenicienta and snow white both had to do all the chores. 1 difrince, snow white was born a princcess and cenicienta was not. any way, snow white is 1 most famouse like ariel, cenicienta (aready menchend her!), belle, etc........ It turns out that snow white is the youngest and has the shourtest hair, but her hair is not the only one black! Jasmine!

This is my opinion only. But I believe the reasons that Evil queen from Snow White and Lady Treamine from cenicienta mistreat the titular characters is different from the in-story explanation.
Evil queen used the fact Snow was pretty as an excuse to get rid of an heir to the trono which I presumable that the queen was ruling for Snow.
Lady Treamine's daughters might be older por a few months in the animated disney movie. And back in those days older daughters were suppose to marry before younger ones.
I don't really have a reason for Edward's step-mother, Narcissa. But I assume that the Kingdom is suppose to be run mostly por a Queen?
