I have been here for a few months, and I noticed that I did not post my opinion of the weakest to strongest DP Film. Since it would not be fair to put all of these films together (as they were made in different times), I will do it in eras. The Disney/Pixar Merger Era is where disney bought pixar after their contract expired, and WDAS was slowly returning to their former glory, while pixar was slowly losing their impact as the best animated company, as WDAS, DreamWorks, Blue Sky and others became big competition. The cine that are in this era that I will be covering are The Princess and the Frog, Tangled, and Brave.

Here is Part 1 of this series: My Opinion on the Strongest DP Film of the Classic Era

3. Brave

Good
The best part in this movie is the mother-daughter relationship. I really like how they handled it, as we got to see that they were close when Merida was younger, but Elinor still had certain expectations of her, which would strain their relationship years after. Elinor does not understand that Merida wants to be able to do what she wants and to not have every aspect of her life, while Merida does not understand that Elinor is involved in her life to prepare her for being a princess and woman. Each scene with these two are deal with care and that shows when tu see these two interact. Both do no realize that they are más alike than they think, which is somewhat why they are so much. A good part of this movie is the score. A lot of people do not really talk about the score in this movie, but it is used effectively in this movie. It has the Scottish sound to it, and builds up más emotion and curiosity in the scenes, and does the job perfectly. The animación is a good aspect, but that is dicho for all DP Movies.

Not Good
There are más than a few issues in this movie, despite the good qualities. The first issue is the portrayal of men; I know that the women are supposed to be these strong, independent girls and to empower feminism, but they make the men look like bumbling, incompetent buffoon. The only tolerable male character is King Fergus, and that is even debatable, since he is a fool as well. Another issue is that there area lot of reused ideas and plot devices from other disney movies, like The Little Mermaid, and especially Brother Bear, which would not be an issue, if they pulled it off better and added something new to it. A third issue is that there are a lot of things that are forced and contrived, like the humor, which are mostly extremely bad and uncomfortable to witness. A lot of scenes to por extremely quickly and do not leave as much impact that it is supposed to be, and they just focus on the stuff they don't really work. After Elinor turns into a bear, everything including the plot goes downhill, and a lot of what was introduced in the does act was automatically dropped.

Overall
Even though the relationship between Merida and Elinor, and the soundtrack is good, the mediocrity, non originality, contrived-ness in but not limited to the plot holds it back from being one of pixar and the disney Princess' stronger films.

2. The Princess and the Frog

Good
There are más than a few things that are good about this film. The first part that is great about this film are the characters. They are all entertaining, have a personality, and they do their jobs well. Doctor Facilier is a GREAT villain and does it well, Tiana is an interesting, developed young woman and protagonist, and Prince Naveen is also a developed, fun, charming deuteragonist. The side characters are enjoyable, and add a positive spice to the film, and also stay in the position that they are supposed to be. Another aspect that I think was well-done was the portrayal of the 1920s, New Orleans, and African-Americans. They used 1920s slang in the script, the segregation for that decade was there (but not that focused on), the clothing, and the mentalities of the younger and older characters were correct. This film could have easily offended African Americans, but they did that aspect really well. The characters were not stereotypical African Americans, and they were portrayed in a non-stereotypical and a positive light. I also liked how they actually casted African-Americans for the voice actors, and treated the race really well in the film. I think the setting was perfect for the content of the story; it has the typical magical aspect, and sets the appropriate mood for the movie.

Not Good
There are also some issues in this movie, and the biggest one involves the plot. The plot is not bad, but it is not executed well, and there are some plot holes. I do appreciate that they tried to add a lot to the plot to develop the characters, the settings, etc. but when there are so many story lines that trying to get focus, it takes away from the main storyline and just confuses people. There is just too much to the plot that either gets too much focus, o does not get enough focus, and the focus is another issue. I do think that there is not enough focus on Naveen's story arc, Doctor Facilier's arc/motives practically gets no focus, and they hammer Tiana's arc is hammered too much. We know in the first 10 minutos that Tiana is all about hard work and trying to get her restaurant, but they keep up bringing that up to the point that it is annoying. Doctor Facilier's motive is not really explained; like he wants Lawrence to marry Charlotte, so he could have control of the finances, and then he will kill Big Daddy LaBoeuf to get all the money. Then he will give the shadows the soul of the inhabitants of New Orleans? It is too vague and underdeveloped.

Overall
While the portrayal of African Americans and the settings are fantastic, and the characters are strong, but the issues with the plot and the focus weakens the film más than a bit.

1. Tangled

Good
While I do like The Princess and the Frog más than Tangled, the latter is the stronger film. Even though everyone on fanpop knows that I am not the biggest fan of Tangled, it does have A LOT of good things in the film. One aspect that is good are the characters. While not the most original bunch, they are enjoyable and developed. Rapunzel is feminine, sweet, and smart, but is also kickass, adventurous, strong, and DEVELOPS (which is rare in a disney Princess). Flynn is a somewhat funny (though with cheesy dialogue), cocky, strong, adventurous, charming, and Mother Gothel is charismatic, manipulative and deceptive. The plot is really well-done. It is simple, but complex with a lot of the details in the simple plot (which works for the film instead of PatF). There are no filler scenes, as all of the scenes are meaningful and have purpose. The pacing is extremely well, and tu never feel that the film is too short/fast o too long/slow, and the same can be dicho for the scenes. The setting gives off the mood of the movie very well (a fun, bright theme to it, but sometimes dark). The tower gives off a sad, trapped mood, while the city gives a fun sweet thing to it, and it adds a lot of charm to the film.

Not Good
While enredados has a lot of great things about it, there are some things that do not work for it. One aspect that I think falls flat is the comedy. I know some people think that it is great, but I think it unintentionally makes the film seem más modern, which is not good when it is supposed to be taken place in a fairy-take timeless place. The dialogue also makes the characters seem like 21st century people disguised in 18th century costumes, and gives it a DreamWorks feel to it. The modernity of this film to be honest is the biggest flaw of Tangled, and that is because it reflects in almost all aspects of the film; the songs are mostly modern, the dialogue is modern, the characters and their arcs are modern, ITS DISTRACTING. The unoriginality of the characters are also an issue, but it is really a minor issue.

Thank everyone who read my article. Please comentario below to share your opinions about the results and these films.
Here are the results of Countdown for The SCARIEST DP Villain. The lista is a result of the countdown done por fans. I tried to include at least one comentario from everyone, to let the fans mostrar their opinions and I do apologize if I didn't include your's. I also added my own opinion to the descriptions, but it's just my opinion so feel free to disagree.

Enjoy!

11. Gov. Ratcliffe
I wasn't surprised to see Ratcliffe leave first. Personally I've never cared for him, he just seems like spoiled brat to me. But even his fans don't find him all that threatening.

He's más like Hans. They both are...

Hello everyone. I'm just boring and suddenly I've got an idea to wrote my lista of prettiest disney Princesses. All of the Princesses have their own typical of beauty. But for sure I have some of favorites. Anyway, here's my prettiest DP list:

13. Snow White

Why her? She's the fairest of them all! Yes, she's the fairest of them all. But for me she is más tend to cute than pretty. I don't really like the shapes of her small-sized brown eyes and her nose. Her face overally looks like porcelana doll. In fact, she can be pretty but I'm just not a fan of her animación styles. Her looks in DP...

Sorry it took me so long to finish this countdown. I just got lazy I guess haha. I did this countdown because while there have been multiple "Best Kiss" countdowns I have never seen the "Almost Kisses" get much appreciation. I think they are cute and suspenseful, so I thought I would give them the spotlight for once. Here are the results, compiled for your enjoyment. :)

9. Tiana and Naveen's 1st Almost Kiss

It's no surprise this kiss left first. It's the only one here that isn't romantic in the slightest, since Tiana doesn't even want to kiss him and she's only doing it to get her restaurant....

Since it's Valentine's día soon I decided to write a few artículos relating to that and I decided to do a lista of my favorito! DP Couples, fittingly enough the last time I did this lista was around this time last year, since then my lista has changed a slight bit. Hope you'll like this article

11. mulan & Shang

Imo they're más best friends than a couple, their first meeting is hilarious though and I amor how mulan isn't afraid to mostrar off her feelings for Shang in a subtle way and how Shang chose to not kill mulan despite the fact that women wheren't allowed in the army, it shows that...

I know we've probably had an excess of these over the last few months, but I don't care. In my humble opinion, there can never be too many artículos defending Walt's girls. I believe Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurora just as much praise and recognition as any of the Modern o Renaissance princesses. The three classic Princesses receive a large amount of criticism. They include "weak", "passive", "need a man to save them", "boring", "do nothing", "need a man to save them", among others (that last reason is so incredibly stupid and sexist). These "arguments" are beyond cliché, mind-numbing,...

hola everyone! The classic disney films had such a knack for capturing the splendor and wonder of magic so I thought I'd rate all the DP films to see which ones are the most magical.
For this, I took the 5 most likely elements of magic in the disney Princess films and added 1 category for the awareness of each 6 elements. This is because the más prominent magic would be in a story (or the world in the story), the más people should be aware of the magic as it would be hard to miss. Here are the 12 put together:

1. Magical Powers- Meaning that magic can be done without the use of items (like wands)...

Hi everyone!

Recently, I publicado a pregunta asking fans to lista five personality traits most desirable in a disney princess. My traits poll, which was going to be the foundation of this article, was based on TheMusicalMolls' lista of traits; the first response. I didn't bother to check my pregunta again for other responses, but when I returned to my pregunta after I publicado the poll, I was surprised to see that más fans had bothered to answer my question. At that point, it was only a handful of people, and since I found their lists highly similar to TheMusicalMolls', I let it be. I hope I didn't...

Here's my quick ranking on original DP films in part 1 of this articulo series. Part 2 will follow with all the sequels, prequels and shorts. Hope you'll enjoy it!

12. Princess and the frog:
I found the script to be very lazily written, with no wow moments to remember and no surprising twists. The movie crawled at deathly slow pace, making me skip scenes in between. The animación was pretty average with nothing memorable except a few scenes in bayou and death of Dr. Facilier. I found the sett ups to be unflattering and lacked the disney magic feel to it. The best set-up from the entire movie was...

I'm sorry but I disagree with each side. I mean I agree with each side but I don't. I think both sides of the argument are taking things way too far, and it doesn't need to.

Frozen fans need to just accept that not everyone likes this movie and frozen haters need to learn that they are being just as rude as the frozen fans and they just need to stop.

Both sides really need to stop because they're ruining this movie for me. They already ruined Elsa for me, and soon, I'll hate the whole thing, even Anna, who's my favorito! DP.

Here's my ranking of disney Prince, barring Prince Hans as he's the DP villain. Hope you'll find it entertaining.

11. Florian:
Apart from canto and mostrando courtesy and respect to a young maid of lower status, there's literally no interaction and no scenes to understand his personality. It was kind of creepy for me that he'd kiss a supposedly dead maiden. So yeah, he's the last in my list.

10. Naveen:
Spoiled rich brat who didn't even learn after plundering all the ancestoral wealth and thought of fixing it the easy way to find a rich girl to marry. Too flirtatious, too lazy, too laid-back...

Trivia

1) Production designer Richard Vander Wende devised a simple color scheme for the film, inspired por its desert setting. Blue (water) stands for good, red (heat) for evil, and yellow (sand) is neutral. For example, the villainous Jafar is clad in blacks and reds, while the virtuous jazmín wears blue. Another example is in the Cave of Wonders, where the lamp's chamber is blue, and the ruby that tempts Abu is bright red.

2) jazmín was originally...

Rapunzel, anna, and ariel
Did tu ever know that Elsa and Anna had a cousin? Well tu do now! Elsa and Anna have a cousin and there cousin is Rapunzel. Never knew that? Now tu know. Rapunzel is cousins with the sisters Elsa and Anna. Rapunzel seems like she forgot she had cousins. I am not sure about Elsa and Anna if they forgot they had a cousin. How are they cousins? Elsa and Anna's mom is the sister of Rapunzel's mom. Now they are Cousins. Another weird thing. Both shows are created por the same person. I never knew they were cousins till I saw a YouTube mostrar that dicho they were cousins. Another weird thing. Ariel...

 Honorary Mention: Cinderella's Father
Honorary Mention: Cinderella's Father
Okay so I basically grew up without parents in a large sense. That being said, I always yearned for a loving, stable and consistent mother and father to teach morals, values, effective and constructive communication, consequences for actions, real love, respect, trust, honor, etc. Since Walt disney founded the company under those family and character-based values, I have always been very attached to the disney brand. That being said, I was thinking about the disney Princesses' parents and if I could have traded my childhood situation with one of them, which would it be? Since I also amor lists...

My entire life, Belle has always been my absolute favorito! princess. When I was just a toddler I dressed up like her for halloween and when I got married, I even tried to find a dress that resembled her yellow vestido (in white, of course).

In so many ways, Belle reminds me of myself. As someone who relates so closely to and identifies with Belle, I wanted to share my well-detailed analysis of her character. I believe we all know our favorito! characters the best so I would encourage others to write an articulo about their favorito! princess. I hope that this will help others understand Belle a little...
