The disney Renaissance, one if the most successful times for WDAS from the late 80s to the late 90s (or to some people, the mid 90s).
 (1989-1999)
(1989-1999)

 (1989-1994)
(1989-1994)

This era is known for its amazing musicals, parte superior, arriba notch hand drawn animación using the computer, many awards, and great critical and financial success (most of them), and the movie that is known to start this fantastic era is The Little Mermaid, which I think gets too much credit for starting the Renaissance, and I know many will disagree, but hear me out.

The disney Renaissance was the time where a lot of money was made, which meant that they could improve the quality of their films, and The Little Mermaid is dicho to be the first HUGE hit since The Rescuers, but it did not do it alone when it came to the monetary start of the Renaissance. Two HUGE factors of this was the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and VHS releases of disney films.

Even though Who Framed Roger Rabbit is not in the canon, it helped kick off the disney Renaissance. disney made another production company called Touchstone in the 80s, so they could release their más adult films and when the film was released in the summer of 1988, it was amongst the 30 highest grossing films at that time, making over $329 million, which was a lot then. This money helped to fund the first few Renaissance films, and to raise th quality of these films that would not have been able to do before hand. With the mixture of live-action and the older Warner Brothers and disney characters put a start to the Golden Age of Animation.

Another thing that helped fund the disney Renaissance is the release of VHS tapes to anterior disney films. This started in the early 80's, and was an automatic money maker, as before hand, the would have to wait years for a rerelease of their favourite disney films, and that was not often, so they would sometimes go without watching it for over a decade.

The Little Mermaid made over $211 million today, but it did not make this much in 1989. Then, it made around $85 million, which is only a bit higher than the amount that the anterior film Oliver and Company made (approximately $74 million), and this leads to my siguiente topic.

Even though Oliver and Company is not necessarily a good film, it was the first film to be a musical in decades, and the soundtrack is still pretty well-remembered today, so this film started the broadway-themed musicals. This film made enough money for disney to release a film EVERY YEAR, and they have done that except for the years 1993 and 2006.

The Renaissance is known to use early computer animation, but the first disney film to use it was the Black Cauldron in 1985, but that was only for special effects and stuff. The Great ratón Detective (which was released a año after Cauldron) used this for the famous climatic scene for the mechanics of the clock, and was used as backgrounds. The Great ratón Detective is the film that convinced the studio not to close down after the dissapointing reception of The Black Cauldron.

The Little Mermaid was the last film to be somewhat xerography, as The Rescuers Down Under was the first film to use the trofeos system, which is seen through the Renaissance up until inicial on the Range.

This is not saying that The Little Mermaid is overrated and did not do much for the Renaissance, as it is one if the best films in that era, but the reason why this film gets most of the credit is because it uses all of those things mentioned above together and to it's advantage. The musical segments are amongst Disney's best, the animación looked like disney animación again, it made a good amount of money for the time, got great reviews, and won some awards, but what I am trying to say is that this film should not get all of the credit, when a lot of the other films helped in many ways.

In these situations, it is never one film o thing that started a time of greatness o badness, but it is a lot of small things that help expand it. If tu agree o disagree, comentario below and express your feelings about the article.

On the eighth día of Princess Walt disney gave to me

Eight mice a-sewing

seven dwarves dancing
six sisters singing
five cursed friend

four braiding girls
three fairy spells
two lucky pals
and the wisdom of an old tree.

I guess I have to apologize...I did my best to create pages featuring the princesses as the sole centre of attraction, but with jazmín that is a little bit difficult because she is usually featured with Aladdin, rarely alone. I could have either found o created a picture of jazmín if I really wanted to, but I really liked this one and it just seemed to fit her the best. So I made...

On the Third día of Princess Walt disney gave to me,

Three fairy spells,

Another day, another page for the calendar. And unlike the last one, this one was kind of a headache for me. Remember a while back when I asked tu which princess fits which months? Most of tu felt that Merida belongs into autumn because of her red hair. Thing is: I already had three princesses for autumn. In addition, I don't think that Valiente is actually set in fall, I think it is either spring o summer during the movie. So I hope that tu are not too disappointed that I ended...

On the segundo día of Princess Walt disney gave to me,
Two Lucky pals,
and the Wisdom of an old Tree

So as promised the segundo día of goodies with a new page for the calendar. I will, btw, subir all the calendar pages separately in the image section of the spot once my 12 days of princesses are done, and all of them have been revealed. I am pondering if I should also create a version which has all pages on one big sheet. If there is any interest in this, please comment. Also, if someone wants a different seize for the fondo de pantalla then the three I am already offering, I am open for request. Speaking...

Wow, ok. It's been five years (oh lordy) since I last wrote one of these, and with a new princess officially in the lineup I think it's high time I revisited my list. Let's do this.

12. Rapunzel

Uuuuuuuuuuuuugh Rapunzellllllllllllllllllll I really wish I liked her más than I do. The funny thing is that I actually think she's a great character and she's also one of my most relatable DPs, but despite this she just doesn't do it for me. There are two primary reasons for this. Firstly, she is not a particularly believable character for me. Seriously, no one would be that socially well-rounded after...

Out of the entire princess lineup, only three of them were the biggest part of my childhood. cenicienta was sorta part of my childhood but mainly the Brandi Norwood version because I preferred that one over the animated version. And I’m not counting Rapunzel because her movie came out when I was almost an adult.

3. Mulan

A lot of tu might know that mulan is my favorito! princess and she’s been number 1 on my lista for years. I was 5 years old when I watched her movie on tape and I remember being so in amor with her and the movie immediately. mulan was one of the biggest feminist iconos in my...

This is a movie I'm really not looking adelante, hacia adelante to watching. I don't mind watching sequels because I used to amor them so much when I was a kid but mulan is one of my all-time favorito! cine ever and this sequel is like on a Maleficent level of ruining original characters.

Tonight's rewatch: mulan 2
Last time watched: 2005-2006

How much did I like this movie as a kid?
I saw the commercial for this movie when I was 11 and I was excited because, again, mulan is one of my all-time favorito! movies. I didn't actually watch the movie until I was 13 o 14 because I was starting middle school when this...

How much did I like this movie as a kid?
I loved this movie when I was a kid! Mulan, both the movie and the character, was actually one of the reasons I became a feminist and why I amor badass women (kinda why I don't 100% blame the revival era for people hating princesses who find amor o aren't "kickass"). I used to sing the songs all the time when I was a kid and I loved any merch I could get (which wasn't a lot). I still have my stuffed Cri-Kee that...

This review was originally publicado months hace but I deleted it because......I was gonna use it for a school assignment and I didn't wanna leave this up so my lecturer could buscar and accuse me of plagiarism. lmao

Anyway, I ended up not using it and I decided to put it back up.

So right off the bat, I have to say that this movie is very.....average. It honestly feels like a tv episode padded out with songs to make it feature length. Moana is a likable enough character, I can almost pinpoint exact moments where she's like anterior disney female protagonists like Ariel, Pocahontas, mulan and Rapunzel...

 Clay! Your eyes!
Clay! Your eyes!
Hi guys, I absolutely amor Clay Aiken's voice and here are my choices for the princesses themselves.

The Way

Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora and Pocahontas will fit the song, especially when the respective amor ones see them for the first time.

Without You

Taken from his 'A Thousand Different Ways' album, originally sung por Mariah Carey. Eric would sing this when he rescues Ariel and vice versa.

This is the Night

From the Beast's perspective, he reassures himself that this is the night to admit his amor for Belle. Including Rapunzel/ Flynn, Aladdin/ jazmín and Anna/ Kristoff.

Here tu Come Again

mulan and Shang will sing in the finale of the film, they could not hide feelings to each other.

Clay Aiken Fan, Anyone?

Do tu like Clay Aiken and do tu all agree with the choices?

Hi guys, I just happened to watch Dragonheart and I thought why not all of the princesses should have a personalised magical Dragon Stones so that they could turn into dragons, so here are my thoughts!

Let Them Have It!

Of course, if disney were to make a movie about them together. The fairy godmother will give them a dragon stone that will turn them into dragones with each special powers! It will make the story interesting.

Don't Take It!

The story will be to dark for a disney film, unless if disney could tone down the appearance of the dragones themselves.

Dragon o Not?

Here are my thoughts of this theory, so what do tu think?

 Anna, how's the Middle East?
Anna, how's the Middle East?
Hi guys, now let's go to the Middle East to see our Anna there.

Hebrew (Einat Azulay)

Okay, She sounds relatively fresh and young. However, she sounds a bit heavy and stiff at certain parts, especially the first part of the chorus. (Ratings: 8.5/10

Arabic (Shorouq Salah)

I absolutely amor Arabic música and their voices, unlike her Hebrew counterpart. She sounds smooth and it makes the audience relax and get along with Anna easily, especially in For the First Time in Forever! (Ratings:10/10)

For the First Time in Forever!

So, only 2 were feature because I'm not really sure who is the Persian actress for Anna sadly to say. Our final destination is the Americas!
 I'm happy for it!

 Moana and Maui
Moana and Maui
Hi guys, I finally watched Moana with 2 of my classmates before one of them is going back to the UK to complete her houseman-ship. So, here is my review on the Polynesian movie.

The Story Plot

When I watched the film, I absolutely amor how the film opens. I felt that it was trying to be a bit like frozen where we hear Scandinavian música at the beginning of the film, so to keep that same tradition. disney used Polynesian música at the beginning of the film, I amor how the prologue is very Polynesian-oriented and I adored the artwork!
The film reminds me of a few films, Treasure Planet, Ferngully...
