I just had this crazy idea - In the siguiente months, I'll write a series of 8 artículos (well, I'll continue only if tu like them, of course). The first 7 artículos will be about separate aspects of the DP cine (Score, princess, couple, screenplay, villain, sidekicks and animation/art), and in the final articulo I'll make the average of the grades I gave the cine in each aspect and make my favorito! DP cine lista = )

The first articulo is about the scores! Enjoy =D BTW, all the pictures I used feature my favorito! song from each movie.

10. Cinderella - 7,0

It sure has a lot of nice songs – My favorito! one is “A Dream is a Wish your corazón Makes”. “So this is love” and “Cinderella” are very nice too. But the rest of the songs feel más like a childish album and don’t have much of a message o big importance in the screenplay – I personally don’t understand why “Bibidi bobidi boo” got an Oscar nomination. Plus, it sounds considerably dated.

9. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - 7,75

Just like Cinderella, this movie has a couple of nice songs, including one of Disney’s sweetest amor songs, but most of them are childish. However, there is a very likeable childish score in the movie, during Snow White’s dance with the dwarfes. This song fills my bedroom with joy whenever I watch the movie. The instrumental opening of the movie is very epic too.

8. Mulan - 8,0

I honestly don’t know who composed this score, but I have to say that the person did quite a good job. I mean, out of all the DP movies, this is the one where the songs were harder to fit in, due to its chinese setting and deep story, and though the job was well-done, it’s still one of Disney’s weakest scores. The solo song of the princess is short and unmemorable, but 2 following songs make up to it: “A Girl Worth Fighting For” and specially “I’ll make a man out of you”.

7. Aladdin - 8,75

Aladdin’s score has 2 main problems: The first one is that most of the songs are made to sound funny, and end up not being as memorable as most of Disney’s songs (in the case of “Prince Ali” and “A Friend Like Me”). The segundo one is that after great villain songs in THE LITTLE MERMAID and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST it is pretty disappointing that the movie’s villain only sings 2 o 3 lines. Other than that, it’s a score full of joy, sustained por “A Whole New World”, one of the best songs of all time.

6. Sleeping Beauty - 9,0

This ballet-inspired score is glorious, and I would have ranked it even higher if it worked well as a movie score as it does as a piece of art. The biggest problem is that most of the songs are sang por chorus and the only memorable one is Once Upon a Dream (one of the best amor songs from the cinema). However, it has some of Disney’s best instrumental pieces.

5. Tangled - 9,1

Its score is great as a whole, but individually, as brilliant as they are, the songs can’t compare to past disney classics. “When will my life begin” can’t compare to “Part of your World”, “I See the Light” is a poor follow-up to “Beauty and the Beast”, “Kiss the Girl” and “A Whole New World” and “Mother Knows Best” isn’t as good as “Poor Unfortunate Souls” and “Friends of the other Side”. However, the movie’s songs are good enough to provide one of DP movie's best scores.

4. Pocahontas - 9,25

Every single song in this movie is fulfilled with tons of energy, mostly because of Pocahontas’ voice – That is noticeable whenever she sings – Just Around the Riverbend, colores of the Wind and specially in the impressive final musical number – Savages. One of the problems of this movie is that its score is way better than the movie itself – Mine, mine, mine, for example, is too good to be sang por such a poor villain like Ractiffle. The instrumental score in the end of the movie always gives me chills.

3. The Princess and the Frog - 9,3

Maybe this one is lower in most people’s lists, but I have a personal attachment to some songs of this movie. “Almost There” feels like me canto about my hard work to achieve my dreams, while I feel like Tiana while she’s trying to get to the restaurant during “Down in New Orleans”. I also feel like its reprise could be the theme of my happy ending too. Putting that beside, we have to assume that all the songs have great quality (after all, it was the first DP movie since aladdín to have más than one song nominated in the Oscars). The biggest problem are the sidekicks songs, all disposable.

2. Beauty and the Beast - 9,75

This score has the charm of Sleeping Beauty, but it manages to be catchy and memorable at the same time. It’s epic and gives the movie the musical feeling it’s famous for. The songs even manage to fix some holes in the plot – In the case of “Something There” and “Beauty and the Beast” itself. In fact, I feel that if we took away música from all the DP movies, this one would be the most affected. There’s not one single song I dislike and it has a lot of instrumental tunes too.

1. The Little Mermaid - 10,0

This score reaches the deepest feelings from my corazón – Both in instrumental moments and during Part of your world – which is my all-time favorito! song. It is filled with joy, in momments like kiss the Girl and Under the Sea. And the surprising is that even managing to do this, all the songs have an important function in the story. Poor unfortunate souls was the song that introduced Villain Songs in Disney, and I still think that “Gaston” o any other villain song made aftewards is able to reach its level.

First we want to start with our opinion on each DP era.

Classic- The Classic girls were obedient, kind, and good natured. They were seen as good-willed and kindhearted, while having...

Elsa, is my favorito! DP currently and I thought of mostrando my opinions about her.

We first meet Elsa when she is sleeping and Anna wakes her because "the sky is awake" and they have to play.
She first hesitates and tells her to play por herself but when her sister asks her to build a snowman she can't resist.
This part shows Elsa's personality before being isolated. We can see that she is the elder sister and tends to act más mature and calm, but she enjoys being with her sister and shows her playful side.
And we can also see that she isn't afraid of her powers and likes to use them.
"Shshshsh!!! Anna, can't tu stay calm for a minute?"
"Shshshsh!!!...

A encuesta was recently made about who was the most selfish DP, and I was shocked and annoyed at what people were saying about Elsa (and Merida... But I guess I may have to make that articulo later) being selfish.

I know this point is already being debated on the poll, so some may find it a bit repetitive to read this, but I wanted to make a really detailed examination about Elsa and her 'selfishness'.

One argument I read was: "in the beginning part when she forbids Anna to marry him, it's just because she doesn't want to see Anna have fun with others while she is alone in her own sadness...."....

If most of tu like me have grown up with The Little Mermaid and have followed the cine and TV shows, I think tu realize when it comes to the story of the rebellious redhead from under the sea, it's not completely there.

Now I didn't see The Little Mermaid in theaters, but a lot of tu did. It after all was the highest grossing animated film at that time. And of course, tu all loved it. So when tu found out that disney was making an animated series about the movie, tu of course were very excited. I myself grew up watching the series on VHS's and one of the VHS's I owned was "In Harmony."...

Elsa's name (a variant of Elizabeth) is Germanic for "noble".
Elsa is 21 years old por the time of her coronation, according to Jennifer Lee, the Junior Novelization, and the age difference from Anna.
When Elsa joins the disney Princess line-up, she'll not only replace cenicienta as the oldest disney Princess, but she'll be the only disney Princess to not be a teenager.
Elsa is the first disney Princess who is the deuteragonist to have a solo of her own. jazmín does not count since her solo was removed from her feature film.
Despite the fact Elsa controls ice and snow, which are both...

Lately my obsession for Pocahontas is growing, and although I've already made a "Why I Love" articulo for her, I just really wanted to write something else for her. The articulo will be a scene-by-scene review, so I'll start from the beginning and talk about every scene she's in till the end, so this articulo might get pretty lengthy. Anyways, I hope tu enjoy :)

We first see Pocahontas up on a cliff thinking. I amor how Pocahontas thinks things through and isn't at all impulsive. We then see her dive off the cliff, as opposed to going down the safer way. This shows Pocahontas's adventurous side...
