thats what I was going to say, if everyone was going around saying whatever they desired to say then you would be living in an uncivilised society because for sure there would be more fighting and arguing hey its only my opinion, I could be wrong, I just feel there are times when you have to choose when its appropriate and know when you can swear till your blue in the face.

this is mostly about this spot but i meant within the constraints of freedom of speach dont yell fire in a crowed movie house exsetera

i meant that we should swear as emiphisis i also have put up a more spesific pick. words are not offensive they are groups of letters. peoples use of the words can be offensive. any group of words put together can be offensive such as all jews have big noses. (i am jewish by the way) none of those words are offensive but put together they are. (again reposting because it is important)

There's a difference between freedom of speech and being polite by the way. We aren't arresting you, and you're swearing, aren't you? It's in the rules because it's a courtesy.

i know i get pretty het yup when i get to debating i feel it's an Ofcourse to be able to swer ofcourse using Fucking evry two word is abit OTT.

I actually think that the overall Fanpop rules apply here in this Spot and cover it quite nicely - PG-13 does allow for some colorful language, but not like every other word...

It also states no personal harassment I believe.

and if we had these words people would be able to say they could cuss somebody out.
u can say them anyways so whatever rule cinders makes (no offense) u can still type em unless the big guys do something.

why is this asked anywhere it can be asked? People just build a bridge and get over it that for reasons so you can seem civil just don't use bad potty words. Damn and hell aren't bad but there is no reason to say any of the other words.

there is nothing bad about dam, damn, however could be considered bad.

but here is an example of dam in a debate, i don't think this new dam should be built because...

this question is kinda vague...I think people should be "allowed" by law to say whatever they want, but I would advise them to be polite in conversation.

Why shouldn't we say 'what ever the fuck' we like? If anyone has a problem with it, they should throw their computer out of the friggin window to begin with.

Furthermore (and I'm guessing someone's said this before) 'dam' is a word I wouldn't hesitate to use in front of my grandmother.

Honestly, I say all of these words all the time. When I'm by myself, when I'm out in public, etc.
But there are words I WILL not accept: (Please, don't get offensive, I'm just trying to state my point)
*N***a - because that is just being RUDE. I mean seriously people, thats what Dr. Martin Luther King J.R. was for, to make blacks & whites EQUAL.
*C***- I think we all know why that should be unacceptable.
*F*****t- because there are actually people who are gay out there & being rude about it & possibly hurting someone's feelings over it is a stupid decision to make. Learn to accept different people's sexuality!

There's not really any other words that I don't accept, the themes that I don't accept are obviously racistism & being disreptful towards people's sexuality.
I guess what I'm trying to say here is that I accept "bad words", but NOT name calling.
Because, what it comes down to is, FREEDOM. OF. SPEECH. (Which I totally respect BTW.)

We have freedom of speech. Yes they are not the most polite words and are wrong to say all the time but thats still our right.

I think there is a difference between swearing and swearing at someone.. I really hate being sworn at, and I also hate overuse of swearing. I know here we have it a lot, and it is like every second word is swearing. Just chuck it in here and there, we get the point you are a big kid now and can say big words like that, I don't need you to prove it between the words that actually make up that sentence.
I mean sure, I say stuff from time to time, but never directed at someone because that is incredibly rude. But you know, it is widely accepted now to say whatever..

Allowing the use of word and actually using them all the time is a big difference. I think all words should be allowed, yet I don't use them all of the time. That is called having manners and is something usefull in society. It's about the impression you make on people.
