Trump threatens to withhold World Health Organisation funding 

As a reminder: The WHO warned the world that the global risk from SARS-CoV-2 was high on 23rd January. The WHO declared a global health emergency on 30th January.

Trump on the other hand tried to minimise the threat of the new coronavirus for weeks in statement after statement well into March. Just a few weeks ago, he still accused the WHO of exaggerating the threat: see link

Six days after the WHO declared it a pandemic, on 17th March, Trump changed course and claimed “I felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic.”


Trump is a lying machine. It is pathological. It is compulsive. It is unrepentant.

To him, truth has no relevance - he just says what he thinks works in the moment and fits his narrative. He's a pure narcissist with all the flaws and manipulation, and none of the brains and subtlety.

I have never known someone so needlessly evil. Like honestly, I hope that this pandemic is enough to keep him from being re-elected.

@Zan "needlessly evil" is honestly the perfect description for him. He doesn't even do all this shit because of some sincerely-believed ideology (some other Republicans have at least that going for them), he just seems to do it out of spite, malice, and the fact that saying anything against him will wound his incredibly fragile ego. He's a textbook narcissist. He's the snowiest, flakiest snowflake of them all. And unfortunately, these are his most prominent traits in running a global superpower.
