I picked 5 because that's when he was with Jen and that was my favorite out of his relationships.

I pretty much only love Dawson when he's not around Joey.
I thought he was awesome in seasons 5 & 6. I also really liked him in season 2, at the beginning of season 3, and whenever he wasn't around Joey in season 4. I couldn't stand him in season 1.
