Defense of original Book Bamon fans who also ship mostrar Bamon
Kay, so I wrote this out of extreme annoyance at a certain fanbase who claims that some of us only ship mostrar Bamon because of the dynamic of Bamon in the libros (which is completely not true).
Since I am a fan who loved Book Bamon before the mostrar even aired, I thought I could give my take on it.
So, three years hace when, when I was twelve, I read the VD book series. I was just getting over a “Twilight” phase (now before tu roll your eyes, I am not obsessed with it anymore. I still like it, but I know there are many other vampire fandoms that are better like VD, Anne Rice, Underworld, and ect.)
Anyway, I bought the libros and began to read.
I was a Stelena fan in the libros from the start (meaning I NEVER shipped Delena), but Damon’s character still interested me. I just hadn’t been sure who I wanted him with.
That was, until I read Dark Reunion. After that, Bamm! It was instant love, and Bamon became my OPT.
I wanted them together SO bad, and my amor only grew for them más when I read Nightfall (which I believe, was the last book to come out before the mostrar aired).
Two years later, when I heard there was going to be a televisión show, I quickly became excited. I couldn’t wait to see one of my favorito! book series become a mostrar that I could watch on every Thursday.
So on the night the pilot episode was to air; I sat down and watched it with my mom and sister.
And….I was disappointed, a little angry even. At the time, I had been expecting and hoping for it to be like the book series, so I could see the characters come to life.
VD was the first CW mostrar I watched, so I wasn’t aware of how much they change things when they adapt libros into shows (from what I heard, “Gossip Girl” was originally a book series, and they changed that greatly too).
So to put it short, I didn’t like the mostrar at first, AT ALL.
The only thing that kept me watching was my sister, who hadn’t read the libros and was intrigued por the idea of the mostrar its self.
I cooled down a bit, and decided to give the mostrar a chance, completely erasing the hope of it similar to the libros from my mind.
And I began to amor the mostrar as a whole, book series aside. But like book Damon, I wasn’t sure who I wanted mostrar Damon with, since I figured Bonnie and Damon were NOTHING like the ones from the book series.
So yes, even though I was still completely in amor with book Bamon, I didn’t ship mostrar Bamon at all at first.
That was, until I saw the episode “History Repeating”. After that, the idea of Bamon in the mostrar intrigued me, as did Kat and Ian’s chemistry.
So I got on trusty Fanfiction.net, and read some amazing mostrar Bamon fanfiction and bam! Just like I had with book Bamon, I instantly fell in amor with the idea of mostrar Bamon.
The point I’m trying to make is, though I loved book Bamon long before I even knew there was going to be a show, I do amor mostrar Bamon for totally different reasons (even though I do sometimes find similarities between the two).
I ship mostrar Bamon FOR what they are, mostrar Bamon, NOT because I read the libros and already loved book Bamon. I know they are entirely two different things.
And I’m sure many others feel the same way I do…
