Okay, so one of the things i amor best about this mostrar was the way in which it had a subtle commentary on gender roles. I know, tu may ask "so, what?" o "why is this important?" Well, I'll tell you.
Often, females are portrayed as supporting characters to the all-important male protagonist. Here, this is not the case. While i am indeed a guy, i like to see that screenwriters have progressive attitudes when it comes to gender roles. If tu notice, Katara is the one who brings Aang along with her, not the other way around. Often, she plays the teacher and not the damsel in distress.
Toph is, for obvious reasons, a very progressive take on a female character. I mean, i loved watching her totally PWN3 the guys like the boulder o watever. Her character gave great representation to the tougher más independent females of the world. And she did más saving than Aang for a good part of the series lol.
My third and favorito! take on the female is Azula, just because of the way that she is placed in a position of power and is widely feared by...like every dude in the mostrar no kidding, Although shes like ozais segundo in command, Azula is fiercely driven towards her own goals rather than just his and she is her own person, as most of the females in the mostrar are. (idk about suki tho) My absolute favorito! moment in the mostrar was when Azula took Ba Sing Se and tricked Long Feng.
That being said:It was great watching these three characters because of the way they defied the "typical" role of a female in media.
