I have my first job interview siguiente week. Any tips? Also, the interview is at noon and I have class before that so it's not very practical to dress up. So, do tu think it would be ok to wear a nice sweater & black jeans with black boots?

I'm applying to be a Speaker's lab mentor. A speaker's lab position is part-time employment at my school (college) for students. If I get the job, I will be assisting students with speech delivery, helping them overcome anxiety & stage fright, helping strengthen speech content, helping with PowerPoint presentations, etc.

Doesn't matter what tu are doing before, get suited up. tu have to dress to impress.

Be prepared to answer preguntas about time management, and how tu organise priorities, as well as how tu get on with people.

Be relaxed, prepare your respuestas ahead of time.

I've been to dozens of job interviews and what above said, dress to impress. First impressions are paramount.

If you're worried choose a suit, get it cleaned, laundered and then hang it up on a capa hanger, wrapped in a large plastic bag so it doesn't crease and keep it in your locker. That way tu can change in less then 3 minutos and be on your way. Make sure your shoes are shiny and brush your hair. If tu have no time to clean your teeth, suck mints.

Prepare your respuestas before hand, like above said. Imagain what preguntas they will ask tu and write down your answers. Practise in a mirror, with friends, your parents, your tutors until tu can rely on eye contact to get tu through.
tu CV should include any other jobs tu have done, references from your employers, anything tu do out of school time tu find interesting, what grades tu have/grades tu are predicted.
If tu haven't had a job yet, ask your tutors if they will write a short note on how they find tu in class.
And the best tip i was ever given. If tu do not understand a pregunta the employer asks, o wish for más time to think about your answer say ' could tu please repeat the question.'

Just remain calm and be as honest but positive as tu can.

For example,i told my current employer though i had expereince in waitressing it was not as high class as the establishment they were in, and that instead of telling me what to do (like how to carry 7 plates instead of 3) they would have to mostrar me as i was a visiual learner. That will give your employer the confidence that tu know what tu need to learn.

I was employed in September 2010, we are now in Janurary 2011, and i am already an under-manager. To say i started as a waitress, that isn't so bad.
But tu must mostrar tu can work hard and take things in.
