‘Once Upon A Time’ Season 4 Update: Belle, Robin Hood, And New Villains In Second Half (Spoilers)

“Once Upon A Time” Season 4 will have no new episodes on ABC for a few more weeks. Reports are saying the fantasy drama will return on Mar. 1. For now, OUAT fans will only have spoilers and teasers about what happens next. Belle, Robin Hood and the new villains are expected to figure largely in the second half of the season.

Spoiler alert: This update contains “Once Upon A Time” Season 4 spoilers. Read on at your own risk if you have not watched the first half of the current season.

Belle (Emilie de Ravin) kicks the Beast aka Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) out of Storybrooke. There is no known method by which he could return, but it seems the cunning character knows exactly who to ask. The final act of “Once Upon A Time” Season 4, Episode 12 shows Rumple teaming up with Ursula (Merrin Dungey).

Robin Hood (Sean Maguire) does not get kicked out like Rumple, but he also leaves Storybrooke and Regina (Lana Parrilla) behind. This develops at the end of “Once Upon A Time” Season 4, Episode 12. Robin’s (technically ex-) wife is dying, and the only way to heal her is to send her to a land without magic.

Marian (Christie Laing) decides to let go of Robin, then her body begins to deteriorate. This makes the whole situation a big mess for Regina, who is now on a mission to find the author of Henry’s (Jared S. Gilmore) book. Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) joins Regina and Henry in Operation Mongoose.

Emma’s on-again, off-again friendship with Regina is expected to have ample screen time in OUAT now that they are in another mission together. The new villains, the Queens of Darkness, is expected to somehow face Operation Mongoose in another battle of good vs. evil.

OUAT executive producer Edward Kitsis told Entertainment Weekly “forgiveness” is one of the ideas that will be explored in “Once Upon A Time” Season 4B.

“What [Rumple] did to Belle is really atrocious and that is not going to be solved with a mixed tape and flowers,” Kitsis said, without entirely eliminating hope for a happy ending. Shippers of Rumple and Belle (Rumbelle) would see the Dark One finding his way back to Storybrooke and Belle. This arc is expected to stretch through “Once Upon A Time” Season 4B.

“Once Upon A Time” Season 4 airs Sundays on ABC. TV.com reports the series is coming back on Mar. 1 with a new episode.
