hetalia Article: Untrue Accusations.

I amor Hetalia. It's one of my biggest fandoms. I amor the characters. I amor the comedy. But sometimes...the fanbase gets on my nerves. So here are a lista of common accusations and assumptions about the hetalia characters.

Belarus is mental/a psycho.
She's not mental, o a psycho. She just loves her brother, and well...she's mostrando that in a way that's different from how most people mostrar affection for those who they love. Seriously, I can't even tell tu how many roleplayers of Belarus that I've seen who just go "MARRIAGEMARRIAGEMARRIAGE" and "Brother let's become one" and make her throw knives all over the place. She's más than that.

Spain is a pedo.
Guys, do tu even know how insulting that is? When you're calling the representative of Spain a pedo, you're basically saying that the entire country of Spain is made up of pedophiles. Sure, Spain likes children. But just because he does doesn't mean tu have to think he's a pedo. There's a huge difference between loving children and being a pedophile.

North Italy's a weak person who will always do whatever other people say.
Yeah. Yep. Uh-huh. Because he's not Italy, tu know, the one who almost won the Euro. Yes, I know that the título of the manga and anime is based off the words "Hetare" (Useless) and "Italia" (Italy). Yes, I know he can be cowardly at times, but Himaruya himself has actually stated that Italy's not entirely weak. There's even been a strip made por Himaruya where Italy gets angry at Turkey for trying to invade him and kicks his ass.

France is a rapist.
Guys, grow up. Like I dicho before in the "Spain is a pedo" part, this is extremely insulting to the country. It's basically like saying everyone in France is a rapist. France himself has actually dicho that amor is something that should not be forced on others, and yet some fans are still accusing France of being a rapist. Also, there's a huge difference between being somewhat perverted and being a rapist. France is the country of love, not the country of rape.

...So, I think I'm done with my rant now...thanks for taking the time to read this. Once again, I love, amor amor Hetalia, but some of the fans can just be a little...ugh. Oh, and if tu took the time to read this, you've just earned a virtual cookie!

blazeandarose I agree, all the way. I never understood why people say Spain is a pedo & France is a rapist, because I don't see how they are in any way. I don't think Italy is entirely weak either. And with Belarus, not sure what to say... I'll just agree with everything you said. Thumbs up to you.

demigod324 Last night i was watching a youtube video(by sexy feet cosplay)and one of the cosplayers made a video as spain and straight forward said...i am freaking tired of people calling me a pedo i would never hurt a little kid(out of character )i'm serious...i don't honestly want to cosplay spain any more because where ever i go,con,meetups,roleplay all i ever get is run...hide...its the pedo...it needs to stop...and if you disagree with what i'm saying you can unsubscribe right now and you won't be missed I thought ehat she said was so true...and just needed to be said...spain is NOT a pedophile

MallowMarsh I know right. I'm going to cosplay as Spain soon, and if anybody at all calls me a pedophile, I swear, I'm going to rip my hair out in frustration. There's a huge difference between loving children and being a pedo.

ivoryphills Although I do agree that the fanbase can get crazy with the countries' personality (I know I do) I don't think they meant to accuse the people of those nations as the psycho or the pedo or the rapist. I think they are targetting just the characters, losing themselves into the anime so much that they forget its true purpose and what the characters truly are. ...Although, that one episode when he tried to forcefully undress England and another time when he got that perverted glint in his eye while caring for sick England don't really help his case... I'm sorry, I just had to get that out of my system! X'D

MallowMarsh Ah, I see, thanks for sharing that, I never though about it that way. :) Sometimes I also get a little too deep into the fandom, and forget about Hetalia's true purpose. And yes, France can be somewhat perverted at times, but then again, the French have always had a love for the human body. xD

black_amaranth On Belarus's issue, I agree that she is not a psycho, but she IS a bit of a creepy stalker. Her case is something similar to Russia's (who I think you should've added to your list) he is not a psychopathic murderer, but it is clear that he is mentally damaged, which is not much of a shock considering his harsh past. My point is that, while those accusations are not true, you should keep the canon moments in mind. While Russia is not as crazy as you see in fanfictions, he is still a bit sadistic on some level, which is clear with the way he treated Lithuania (the whip scars on his back and all) As for Belarus, I don't believe that she is insane either, but like Russia, she is somewhat sadistic as well, or at least has some strange stalking issues. Otherwise, thank you very much for posting this. Hope those fangirls read this and realise how aweful they sound when making jokes about rape and pedophilia.

MallowMarsh Yeah, I know what you mean. Belarus is a bit mentally unstable, but not insane. I just hate it when people think that she's nothing but a knife-throwing, marriage-obsessed psycho. It just doesn't seem...real. It seems like she doesn't even have an actual personality when portrayed that way. All I was trying to get across in the article was that if you want to portray a character, at least get to actually know the character instead of making assumptions. Also, you're quite welcome. The jokes are just horrible, and I hope the fangirls will stop.

hetaliarocks356 YES!!!! Spain is not a pedophile, a pedophile is someone sexually attracted to children. Just because Spain likes cute things and cute children does not mean he is a pedophile!
