AudreyFreak picked Anna is Rapunzel done right (even if her humor is a little overblown):
all of these to a degree but especially Snow, Rapunzel, Tiana, Cindy and Elsa. well, Ariel's dress isn't my favorite but it is definitely the best in the movie. I do like Maleficent even though I think people overrate her just because they dislike Aurora and Philip.
otherwise you basically read my mind.

8804 picked Ariel's blue dress is one of the prettiest dresses in the lineup:
Hmm. Some of these I agree with. Basically, I think the one about Ariel's dress is spot on. And the opinion about Elsa is spot on. Some of the others I agree with as well, and some I don't agree with. But whatever. ;)

KataraLover picked Elsa ISN'T the best female character ever:
Anna is Rapunzel done right? Really? Rapunzel actually develops, matures, and grows in her movie, which Anna does NOT! Plus Anna's humor is a lot more forced in my opinion. But I do agree with quite a bit of this.

I agree with a lot of these opinions .

But I chose this because lot of people likes or defends tiana just for being black, I dont care Princesses colors , I like their personalities , I don´t care if my favorite Princess is black , chinese ...

UnholyNoise picked cenicienta is an abuse survivor, don't get why people are so hard on her:
Cinderella has been through some tough shit, you guys. I don't like the message that a handsome prince is the ticket out of a bad situation, but I admire Cinderella's attitude, her refusal to be broken. As I've said elsewhere, my favorite characters are those who put themselves in a mindset to overcome their circumstances, no matter how high the deck is stacked against them.

Also, Rapunzel *is* kind of a Mary Sue -- and that isn't a bad thing in itself. There are some really well-written Mary Sues out there (ahem, Esmeralda); she's just not one of them.

AudreyFreak picked Anna is Rapunzel done right (even if her humor is a little overblown):
^well, the point of a Mary Sue is that they aren't well written because they lack flaws, they're the author's ideal character, usually as a stand-in for the author. or at least the author doesn't portray negative things they do as flaws (I hate to keep using this comparison but look at Bella Swan- she's stubborn, self-absorbed, is sexist toward other girls for not being loner tomboys and has unhealthy obsessions with Edward. She is flawed. BUT Meyers doesn't address any of this as wrong, just wants them to make you like her). Mary Sues are always right and anyone who doesn't agree with them or calls them out on stuff is portrayed as the bad guy. They're meant to be universally relatable so the audience can use them for self-inserts usually. (I think people confuse 'Purity Sue' or just generally idealized characters for Mary Sues.) All this is definitely true for Blondie.

UnholyNoise picked cenicienta is an abuse survivor, don't get why people are so hard on her:
^ Actually, a Mary Sue is someone who is not only perfect but has the plot heavily revolve around them (more obvious in Esme's case -- she isn't even the lead character, but all three main dudes are in love with her, one of whom is willing to burn an entire city to the ground just to be with her, *and* she has no real personality/physical flaws, etc. Come to think of it, Quasi barely drives the plot in his own story; it's mostly her.).

There's no reason these people can't be written out to be likeable -- and that's what I meant by "well-written" not that they're dynamic or complex. (I guess that wasn't the best word to use...) Usually people are quick to tag a character they *don't* like as a Mary Sue -- and that's why it's such a loaded term, why people see it as an ad hominem. I just don't think there's anything inherently wrong with being a Mary Sue; it doesn't stop me from liking Esmeralda. My problem with Rapunzel isn't that she's a Mary Sue (and she is), it's that she's hella boring.

rhythmicmagic picked Snow White's voice isn't annoying:
A fair number of these, but I chose this one because it's the one I see the least.

About the Tiana one- I don't think you'll find many people who actually like her because she's black. However, I do think a lot of the hype she got when PatF first came out about what a great character she was was because she was black. However, I don't think those people are fans of the princesses and don't care about the movie anymore, so I don't think it's accurate to say that's why many people continue to like her.

scarletunicorn picked Belle is very relatable:
Her current fandom is like that, though, in places like tumblr and such her personality is reduced to nothing and people praise her just for her skin color. It's a pretty racist way of behaving tbh (that's another reason why i don't want yet a Latina princess- i don't want her reduced to eating tacos and speaking bad Spanglish).

UnholyNoise picked cenicienta is an abuse survivor, don't get why people are so hard on her:
I don't think there's anything wrong with praising Tiana for her skin color, or that it's racist to do it. I'm also active on Tumblr, and the praise seems to be more in the vein of "Oh wow, it's cool seeing someone in the DP line who looks like me for once, and she's awesome for it" rather than "it's better to have black skin than white." (I'm saying this as a minority.)

imo, this thing about most of Tiana's fans only liking her because she's black, and for no other reason, is an exaggeration

rhythmicmagic picked Snow White's voice isn't annoying:
I agree with UnholyNoise. I tend to find Tumblr far too dogmatic about representation (yes, it IS important, but are we seriously going to call a movie set in Scandanavia racist because it's main characters are white?), but I've never come across anyone on Tumblr who only cares about Tiana's skin color. Celebrating the inclusion of a black Disney Princess=/=liking Tiana for being black or celebrating Tiana for being black, even.
UnholyNoise- By the way, love the Prince of Egypt icon!

dimitri_ picked Anna is Rapunzel done right (even if her humor is a little overblown):
Definitely agree with this one, her character is much more organic. I also agree that Poca can be immature and that Rapunzel is the most Mary Sueish of the bunch + Tiana option.. as a result, people who don't like her get accused of being racist *eyeroll*

Also the ones about Snow White, Elsa, Pocahontas, and Merida. Also, I sort of agree with the Rapunzel one.
She has some flaws, but they are portrayed as "cute". I guess I could say i agree with AudreyFreak.
Loving the Maleficent and Aurora picture!
