Work sucked sometimes. Why? Well, because it was always the same thing. Every day, Zelman would get bored, refuse to do his work, and then decide it would be a good idea to trip me and watch me fall to the floor. With his papers all over my body. That I had to pick up.

“Why, Miss Taiyo,” Zelman spoke in amusement, his red eyes shining in the dim light, “you should watch where you’re going, o tu could be seriously hurt.” I groaned in frustration, sitting up and straightening my standard falda and blouse.

“Zelman-sama,” I ignored his tone (for now), keeping my eyes on the papers in front of me as I piled them neatly, “I need tu to get these papers signed, o you’ll get in trouble with the Company again.” Zelman’s face soured when he realized I wasn’t going to give him a good reaction today. The reason was because I was too tired for his tricks today, seeing as I’d stayed up half the night doing Zelman’s work, right up until big sister Mimiko forced me to go to bed. And tu can imagine how I, a “Red blood”, can’t really handle being up all night and all day. Oh, and tu can guess how Zelman reacted to me asking him to actually work. That’s right!

He ignored me.

“Zelman-sama—“ I called, stumbling to my feet as he left the room.

“I wouldn’t follow me if I were you, Little Miss, I’m hungry right now.” I stopped in my tracks, my face flushing. I won’t lie, I kind of imagined what it would be like to be bitten por a vampire before, so whenever Zelman just mentions this type of thing off-hand it always leaves me a little flustered. I act just like a little kid who did something wrong and I’m afraid of getting sent to time-out por my parents. Except in this situation I don’t want Zelman finding out about my fantasies, because he might just take them seriously and bite me. And if Zelman bites me, Jiro will find out and he’ll get angry, so when he gets angry Kotaru will cry, and when Kotaru cries Mimiko will get upset so she’ll ask why he’s crying, so then he’ll tell her it’s because of Jiro, and then she’ll obviously find out from Jiro that Zelman bit me and I’ll have to deal with everyone getting on my case! Wow, I can’t believe I just dicho that all in one breath. Just goes to mostrar how amazing I am~!

Anyway, I stacked all of Zelman’s escritorio and got ready to leave. I was so glad the día was nearly over! I could get inicial to see little Kotaru and pinch his cheeks! Okay, so maybe I wouldn’t do that exactly, but I’ll still hug him! I smiled as I continued to think about seeing Kotaru again, imagining what I might do with him today. I always plan something a little special for him, especially if Jiro and Mimiko aren’t home.
“Hehe.” I smiled as I thought of bringing him to a new Icecream comprar close to home. Of course, thinking of comida just made me hungry… I hadn’t had any dinner.

tu can blame Zelman for that.

I was walking down the streets on my way home, the sun just starting to peek over the roofs of several buildings. Swinging my bag back and forth I pulled out my wallet and stopped por an all-night Stop-n-Shop to buy some sweets for Kotaru and me to share. As I picked out several pocky and other yummy things, I began to el espacio out a little as my thoughts went to Zelman. I didn’t really understand why that guy had to tease me so much, it was really irritating! One time when he tripped me, my falda flipped up! I won’t even repeat his comentario on my black underwear.

So I didn’t even notice when someone came up behind me, taking the pocky box out of my hand and looking at it inquisitively. I did, however, jump when they spoke.

“I didn’t know tu liked sweets, Taiyo-chan.” Jiro dicho quietly as he looked down at me. Curse my shortness.

“Oh—I’m actually getting those to share with Kotaru. He’ll probably eat most of it, though…” I trailed off as I reached out to take back the pocky.

“Oh, don’t worry, I’ll carry these for you.” Jiro said, picking up the rest of the sweets from my hands.

“O-oh, alright. I’ll go get some fresa leche and green tea, too. tu can take all that to the cashier.” I smiled gratefully at him. Jiro was a really nice guy—for a black blood, anyway. He was my best friend (most of the time) and is really protective of me, just like a big mother bear! I couldn’t help but giggle as I thought of Jiro’s face attached to the large, wild animal. I’m just kidding, though~! He’s más like a brother.
“Taiyo-chan?” I heard Jiro call. I had spaced out again (I need to stop doing that….).

“Coming~!” I sang cheerfully, bouncing childishly to the counter. Jiro chuckled, his eyes following my every mover as I handed the cashier dude the drinks. I began taking money out of my wallet before Jiro stopped me.

“Please, let me.” I laughed.
“Jiro, do tu even have any money? I didn’t know tu had a job.” I teased lightly. Jiro just smiled and miraculously pulled cash out of his red jacket. That proved that, then! The cashier packed all the dulces into two bags and the drinks into another and Jiro, ever the gentleman, took them all. I hummed a small tune as we both walked down the lightening calle towards Mimiko’s house (or… warehouse. Haha.)

“Taiyo-chan?” Jiro asked, his eyes still facing forward. I glanced at him.
“What’s up?” I replied, giving a grin he probably couldn’t see.

“What is that song you’re singing?” I hummed again and hooked my arm with Jiro’s.
“It’s called ‘Tsunaida te ni kiss wo’. I sing it to Kotaru sometimes.”

“I didn’t know tu could sing, Taiyo-chan.” I laughed.

“That’s ‘cos I can’t!” we both chuckled and quickly came upon Mimiko’s door, “Mimi and Kotaru are still asleep, right?” Jiro nodded, following behind me silently as we tiptoed in. I nearly fell over Kotaru’s giant stuffed oso, oso de in the dark before Jiro flipped on one of the lights. Thanking him, I took the drinks from the bag he still held and put them in the fridge while telling Jiro to put the sweets in my room so Mimiko wouldn’t throw them away (she’s so mean! D:). I followed Jiro into my room and yawned, plopping onto my soft little bed, not even bothering to change out of my work clothes. Jiro just stared at me and kinda smiled. Well, I think he smiled. It might’ve just been the dim light.

“G’night, Jiro-pon~” I yawned again and rolled over so I faced away from him. Before falling to sleep, I heard Jiro whisper me goodnight and slip a blanket over my body.

It was around noon when I woke again. Because of my temporary job as Zelman’s little secretary (coughslavecough), I usually would have to wake up just before dark. Usually. But seeing as Zelman pantalones off, I have to do his work, which means I have to wake up at noon most of the time (feeling like it’s around, say, two o three A.M to a normal red blood) and pull my take-home-work from my briefcase. I gotta say, Zelman Clock, you’re one fine vampire, but tu really need to stop torturing your secretaries like this. I can understand perfectly why poor Sayuka needed a vacation from this tyrant.

So after taking a short ducha, ducha de and changing into a simple blue tank and white shorts (it’s summer time!) I headed out to greet Mimiko in the kitchen. Except she wasn’t there. I looked around confusedly and spotted Kotaru sipping the fresa leche I’d bought him. Smiling, I patted his head lovingly, making him look up at me.

“Good afternoon, Kotaru! Where’s Mimiko?” I asked. He giggled when I tickled him por accident.
“Mimi-chan and brother both had work to do.” He told me, “so Mimi-chan dicho you’re in charge today, Tai-chan!” I nodded, heading back to my room to grab some of the sweets I bought.
“That means we can have a fun día today, Kotaru!” I pulled out the sweets and grinned, “how does the Amusement park sound?” Kotaru’s eyes lit up.

“You really mean it, Tai-chan? We can go to Six Flags again?” He asked excitedly. I took him there at the beginning of summer, right before I’d started subbing for Sayuka. It’d been his first time, and as tu can tell, he loved it!

“Sure! Let me just leave cranky old Zelman a voicemail so that he’ll do his work for once.” Kotaru nodded and continued to sip his leche while I dialed up Zelman. I knew he wouldn’t answer, since it was in the middle of the day, but it was worth the try. I turned on the Blue tooth so that I could pack some lunch boxes for Kotaru and me. I wasn’t so irresponsible just to let him eat sweets and basura comida all day! Humming the same song as last night, I waited about thirty segundos before Zelman’s voice answered.

“Zelman-sama,” as much as I disliked it, I still had to speak formally to him, “this is Katsuragi Taiyo. I wanted to remind tu to sign your papers today, seeing as I won’t have time to fake your signature.” I rolled my eyes at the thought. Kotaru tugged at my tank lightly, trying to catch my attention.
“Tai-chan, when are we going to Six Flags?” he asked excitedly.

“Give me thirty minutos to fix our lunch first, Kotaru.” I told him. I froze when I heard a chuckle.

“Sounds like fun, Miss Taiyo. Mind if I registrarse you?” my face flushed with embarrassment when I realized I hadn’t gone to voicemail—Zelman had actually answered his phone!
“Z-zelman-sama—I thought that this was voicemail!” I stuttered. I could practically feel his smirk through the phone.
“I’ll see tu there, Miss Taiyo. Don’t tell Kotaru I’m coming, I want it to be a surprise.” With that, he hung up. I sighed and looked over at Kotaru, who now sat in front of the television.
“A surprise, huh?” I grumbled, bringing Kotaru his emparedado, sándwich de and vegetables. This was going to be a long day, I just knew it.

“Tai-chan, Tai-chan! Look over there!” Kotaru yelled excitedly. I just laughed and followed him to the entrance of the park, holding onto his little hand tightly so we wouldn’t get separated. Turns out, the thing he led us to wasn’t anything that great.

“Hello, Little Miss.” I pouted at the red-headed Black blood.
“Zelman-sama.” I greeted, avoiding his gaze. Kotaru seemed totally oblivious to my discomfort, chatting away with Zelman happily. Oh, kids and their innocence. I tugged on Kotaru’s hand gently.
“We’re next, Kotaru.” The boy nodded and followed me up to the booth, “am I paying for you, too, Zelman-sama?” I asked politely. He smirked and stepped up to the booth, brushing up against me and invading my personal space.
“Two adults, one child. All-day access.” I raised a brow and tried to step away from him, getting más than uncomfortable with this close proximity. Zelman stopped me, immediately wrapping his arm around my waist, “I understand tu have a family discount today?” I froze up. He couldn’t honestly mean us, could he? First of all, we’re not a thing. No way. Secondly, Kotaru can’t pose as our ‘child’ because he looks nothing like either of us! Thirdly… this was just plain embarrassing.

The lady in the booth blushed at Zelman and stuttered out a small ‘yes’ before he handed her some money in exchange for our wristbands. I just sighed and placed my hands on Zelman’s.
“Zelman, dear, you’re cutting off my circulation!” I hissed in his ear. It was a big exaggeration, but it didn’t work. Zelman just smiled and brushed his mouth against my neck. Was it my imagination, o did I feel his fangs there a bit, too? I decided to ask anyway.
“Zelman-sama, I thought you, er, ate last night.” I whispered, following Kotaru to a Fun House. He smirked again.

“Can tu really blame me for getting famished again when around an intoxicating human such as yourself?” he purred. I gulped and followed Kotaru into the Fun House quickly, trying to block off the thoughts of vampires, blood and being bitten por a vampire from my mind. I could swear I heard Zelman chuckling as he followed me inside—except that I’ve never heard him laugh before. The guy probably knew exactly what I was thinking, too! I made a mental note to ask Jiro if mind-reading was an ability of Old Bloods.

When we reached a room where the walls spun around and made tu dizzy (Kotaru having already gone way ahead of us) I stopped and turned to face Zelman, who had his hands stuffed coolly in his pants pockets.

“Why do tu always do that?” I asked him. He raised an eyebrow amusedly.
“Whatever do tu mean, Little Miss?” I pouted slightly at the nickname.
“It’s Taiyo. And I mean that teasing thing tu always do to me. Ever since I’ve started working for you, you’ve always been invading my personal space, making fun of me, tripping me, and a bunch of other things I can’t name off the parte superior, arriba of my head! Oh, and not to mention the vampire thing tu do.”

“The Vampire thing?” he repeated. Crap, I didn’t mean to say that. I turned away quickly.

“If tu want to be that way, fine. We should catch up with Kotaru.” Ugh,I act like such a child sometimes! My face burned as I hurried out of the spinning room and towards the exit, where Kotaru waited.

“Where were you, Tai-chan? I was getting really worried!” Kotaru asked. I patted his head.
“How about we try the House of Mirrors next?” I asked instead of answering. Kotaru’s eyes lit up.

I was right about it being a long day. The worst part of all was that after dropping Kotaru off with a worried-looking Mimiko and Jiro (I forgot to leave a note, oops) I had to go straight to work as Zelman’s assistant. And Zelman decided to give me a ride there, which didn’t please Jiro at all.

I entered Zelman’s little ‘lounge’ and set my maletín on his coffee mesa, tabla with a sigh.
“Seeing as neither of us did any work today, we should probably hurry up and finish this paperwork now.” I called over to Zelman as he sat with a can of coke. I got irritated once I realized he wasn’t listening to me and snatched his coca cola away, setting it down on the coffee mesa, tabla harshly.
“Zelman-sama, tu need to do your work!” I meant to sound firm, but it came out as más of a whine. I placed my hands on my hips for emphasis anyway. Zelman just stared at me with his trademark smirk.
“….”

“……”

“…..”

“Oh, for God’s sake, what?!” I snapped. Zelman reached up and grabbed my hands from my hips and pulled until I fell onto his lap. His smirk grew.
“Little Miss Taiyo,” he dicho as he pulled my red face closer, “do tu realize how hungry I am right now?” his breath ghosted over my neck and I felt his smug lips pressing against my jugular vein. Slowly, tauntingly, his tongue licked over the smooth skin and his fangs poked out, beginning to scrape against it.
“Z-zelman-sama…” I whimpered. I almost wanted to pull away, but the other half of me forced me to stay. The half that always wondered what it would be like to be bitten, the half that secretly craved for the fangs to pierce my flesh.

Not just any fangs, I thought as Zelman continued to lick my neck, His. Zelman’s.

Zelman pulled back slightly, taking his tongue back into his mouth as he prepared to bite in.

“Taiyo…” he growled, placing one hand on the small of my back and the other behind my head, tilting it back for más access. I didn’t even have time to think as his fangs pierced my neck, spilling my lifesource into his awaiting mouth. A moan broke free of my lips, my back arching and pressing my chest to Zelman’s. All the things that I’d heard about vampire bites were true. Now I knew what Mimiko had once experienced with Jiro.

Getting bitten por a vampire was better than sex. Not that I’d ever done that, either. I was only eighteen, for God’s sake!

Before I’d even realized it, Zelman had pulled his fangs out of my flesh and smirked at my dazed face. He leaned forward, licking up the trail of blood that had spilled down my neck.
“I was right. You’re absolutely delicious.” Zelman muttered into my ear. His warm breath tickled my earlobe and I shivered slightly, wrapping my arms around Zelman’s shoulders. His bite had made me delirious and bold. I leaned adelante, hacia adelante towards Zelman and pressed my lips sloppily to his, pushing him back against the couch. I felt Zelman smirk against my lips.
“Now, now, Miss Taiyo.” He scolded, pulling me a short distance away from him, “I think tu need to learn who’s in charge here.” He pushed me down onto the plush, red sofá and leaned down tauntingly, pressing his lips against mine in a fiery, dominant kiss. I whimpered, feeling his fangs slice my lower lip slightly and unleashing small tremors of pleasure in my body. I attempted to envolver, abrigo my hands around him again, only to fail as he pinned them above my head.

“What a naughty girl.” he growled, pressing himself flush against me. I moaned.
“Zelman-sama!”

I groaned as soon as I opened my front door. Mimiko and Jiro were both still awake. The bad thing about this was:

1) Zelman entered right after me.

2) My clothes were so obviously ruffled and messed up.

3) My exceptionally long hair was pushed to the side (thanks to Zelman), so the fang marks were obvious against my pale skin.

“Taiyo-chan?” Jiro was the first to notice our presence. When he took in the fang markings and Zelman’s arm around my shoulders with his smug look, his eyes narrowed as he stood up.
“Now, now, Silver Blade, tu won’t want to upset Miss Taiyo. She’s already considerably tired after a long day’s… work.” Zelman was obviously enjoying every moment of this. I, meanwhile, was embarrassed out of my wits. tu would be, too, if tu were in my situation.
“What the hell have tu done with Taiyo-chan?” Jiro growled, his glare intensifying. I took this moment to butt in.
“Actually, Jiro… Zelman didn’t do anything I didn’t want.” If my face wasn’t red before, it sure was now! Zelman seemed to thoroughly enjoy my confession. Mimiko jumped into the conversation quickly.

“Taiyo, tu let Zelman bite you?” she asked, looking slightly horrified. I frowned at her.

“Hey, sis, you’ve had your adventure. Why can’t I have mine?” I shot back. Mimiko just sighed in defeat and sat back down on the couch.
“Don’t worry, Silver Blade. I know tu have a little crush on Miss Taiyo, but I can assure tu I won’t hurt her… in any way she won’t like, anyway.” Cue facepalm.

Wait…. Did Zelman just say that Jiro had a crush on me? I stared at Jiro with wide eyes. That’s a big surprise!
Then again, I’m kind of clueless about these things.
